Comfort Inn Winchester

The lady at the front desk, who was brand new and left all alone, was the only member of the staff who actually tried to give customer service. I commend her for not walking out, honestly. My room had not been cleaned before we were assigned to it. Not ideal when arriving with children for a cheer competition, but fixable. No, they had no cleaning staff on site to clean while we went to dinner. Instead i was sent to another room across the hall, which was occupied! I go back to the desk, get ANOTHER room, that's ALSO OCCUPIED!! On the fourth try they got me in a room that was clean and not in use. I was not comfortable staying, but i didn't have another option. When i was finally able to speak to a manager the next morning, i got a list of excuses for all the insanity. The insult to the injury was that the whole reason we stayed there to begin with was for the pool and it was closed. I had checked the reviews and information ahead of time, it was not noted even though the signs on the doors were clearly not new. The manager did end up giving us a small discount for the trouble, which continued later in our stay, but initially tried to use us having booked through Expedia as a reason he wouldn't be able to do anything for us. The only redeeming part of that stay was having dinner at DJ's steakhouse bar and grill across the exit.

Hotel was overbooked. We had booked 2 rooms for my wife and 4 kids. Because there were no adjoining rooms we ended up booking just one room. It worked out ok but kind of disappointed.

We had driven through the night from KC. No sleep. We did a little sightseeing in the area. Our check in time was 3 pm. We were so exhausted. At 1:00 we went in to see if we check in early. The room had just been cleaned. Everything was clean, fresh smelling. The mattress and pillows were perfect with crisp bedding. We slept for 4 hours. Found a local place for dinner. Slept 9 more hours. It was a lovely, restful

The front desk clerk, Marina, was excellent. She went above and beyond what was expected to make sure we got the room we wanted. Would stay there again.

One night stay to visit Claireborne farm. Comfortable, quiet , clean had everything we needed.

1st room we were given, the tub was horrible. It looked like it had not been cleaned in days. We were moved to another room, it was fair. The lamp shades and curtains had stains and the toilet seat was loose. The pool and gym were not open for use. Breakfast was a joke, there were only a few items offered. There was hardly anyone around if you needed something and you couldn't call from the room, the phones were not working.

You get what you pay for, decent but not great

The door didn’t lock behind us. You could push it open without using the key card. They moved us to a different room immediately. I reserved a king size bed but open walking into room it was a double queen as they didn’t have anymore king beds. The 2nd room was missing big towels for us to use in the morning.

My mom left the room five minutes before I did, took the room keys, and turned them in before I left the room. I take responsibility for that. BUT, weird front desk guy was in my room, FULLY INTO THE ROOM TO THE BEDS, without knocking, within one minute of her laying down the keys and he did not want to leave once he realized he and I were alone in the room with a closed door. He came in fast, looking for something— me? A hidden camera? The tip I’d left for the cleaning person? Anything I might have forgotten? I don’t know but it was scary and he’s disturbing.

The pool is closed, no repair date in site. The breakfast was horrible Was there for 3 nights, every day i had to get my key reactivated

Old and dirty. Too much for such an old hotel. The breakfast was all packaged sweets and some bagels or toast or waffles. All carbs. No eggs, sausage, etc. Wanted some more bedding for one of my children, and was told no extra bedding. How do you not have extra bedding. Then asked if they had a little shop with some pepto bismol, and was told the gas station is across the street. If it wasn’t 9:30 at night and it wasn’t for my husband who was sick, I would have thought of that myself. Not worth the money.

The lobby was clean, front desk staff friendly, check in was easy. The room was just ok. The sheets and comforter were clean, the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet and we slept great. However, there were holes in the walls that needed patched, the toilet paper holder was coming off of the wall, there were 2 bars of used soap in the shower, a pack of old coffee in the coffee maker. Not deal breakers, but definitely could use some upkeep.

Wasn't told the pool wasn't working, some man kept knocking on our door after midnight and the desk wouldn't do anything about it, had to ask for towels and for the room to be cleaned

The property was clean and nice. Good value for the money.

Worst place to stay! We first got there and the first room we were given was dirty, bed was all a mess and towels all in the floor. Then he gave us another room and walked us to it and then walked in on someone who was supposed to have already been checked out. He then gave us another room that had loose bathroom floor tiles, the air didn’t work properly and there was a dirty washcloth wrapped around the handle of the shower head holding it in place. The cups were dirty and gross, even with plastic on the outside. There were also no washcloths, so when we went to get some, we complained and they said they didn’t know how someone was supposed to be checked out but was still staying there. It’s a shady place, DONOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

The bathtub was stained with something brown, blinds were stained black in spots, bed leaned to the right.

Hotel is in a great location. Not a bad one night stay but the bathroom was nasty and gross. The tub has not been cleaned nor had the commode. Some wear on the building could use some updating
