Holiday Inn DES MOINES DTWN - MERCY AREA by IHG, an IHG Hotel

The towels had a lot of stains on them, and the area didn’t have much to do. Other than that the place was decent and friendly people.

Quick overnight stay. Lobby and room were clean. We didn’t visit the pool as it was packed and loud with other guests. Our room was right next to the elevator so the noise in the hallway was loud at times from many sports teams staying there. Also, if you’re a light sleeper it is right on the Highway and the road noise was pretty loud on floor 3. Great view of the city. Be aware that the parking lot directly in front of the hotel is closed but the one across the street isn’t too much of a walk. They’re still using just the small toiletries so take extra if you’ll be staying longer.

Everything was good beside it was packed and parking lot as out of service so it was hard to find a place to park.

The air conditioner wasn’t working well so we asked for another room. It was better but not the best. Carpet needed stretched . Nice size room. Parking lot was closed. Had to walk across the lot to an additional parking lot. There was Only room enough to unload and no drive up area to unload at the door. Bar is closed on weekends and monday as well as the restaurant.

They let one person from our party have breakfast but not the other two. Still very confused.

The parking lot was under construction. So we had to walk to the hotel due to not enough parking spaces. I have also not received the deposit back yet from our stay.

Dirty room, rude staff, property is run down. I walked in and felt I was walking in an old casino hotel

I was here on some of the hottest days of the year. With that said, I understand things happen. However, the AC to the hotel was having trouble keeping up and the gym was 76 degrees while I was working out (and only one machine in working order) and my room was at 79 degrees with the AC on. I called the front desk and was told someone would be up to check it out and over an hour later no one had come up. When I called back down they advised they were working on it. I then asked for a fan since I was getting ready for a formal event and was very warm. this again took almost an hour to get to my room. I appreciate the fan and understand things happen, but I expect a hotel to have proper working equipment, especially something like the AC in the summer time.

I like the location. However, I couldn't park my car at the hotel parking lot due to construction, which created the inconvenience for guests parked their car across the street, with invisible signs that I couldn't see. I drove around in circles for couple time before I could park my car. I wish the the hotel should warn the guest on their website about the parking lot under the construction.

Can’t control AC in the room so it just stayed hot. Also no housekeeping when requested. All in the name of being eco-friendly.

Parking was limited as the parking lot connected was shut down. The hotel was outdated and was okay for cleanliness. Smelled like smoke in the hallways.
