Holiday Inn SALEM by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Liked the location just off the interstate. Quiet AC. A few carpet issues and stomping other guest were just minor nuisances.

The area was ok, the room was clean and comfortable. No free breakfast, but they do offer a restaurant where you can order breakfast. We chose to eat off site, so I can’t comment on that. The gentleman who was working the desk could use a little training on greeting customers with a pleasant disposition. He wasn’t rude or anything, just not very outgoing.

They need to have a guest complimentary breakfast and coffee out all the time. They have a sit down in hotel restaurant but not everyone has the timr for that, plus not wanting to drop $20 or more at every meal. Just a quick grab and go. I do like how pet friendy they are

Poor bath room exhaust, poor and old carpet, no laundry bag in room or front desk. No a low Holiday Inn standard that I ever had experience. Excellent location and potential after improvement.

We very much appreciated the pet friendliness of the place. And the desk staff were extremely helpful and nice. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and were set up to accommodate kennels for our animals. Thanks so much for making one night of our move from CA to WA easy!

I got the double queen room and on our 2nd night, we came back to the room ant there was ants all over one of the nightstands. I called the front desk about the issue and they brought me Lysol wipes and sent the maintenance guy up to our room. All he did was looked and said “well I can’t spray for ants with you in the room”. I went to talk with the front seat and they said that the only rooms available were their pet friendly rooms. Well I’m not moving my kids into a pet room if the non pet room has ants. I wasn’t about to get flees. So they didn’t do anything to fix the problem they just gave me Lysol wipes and told me to wipe things down. Crazy, like I’m the maid service. The pool was cold and had way too many chemicals in it. Also there was a little league baseball team that stayed in the hotel as well and they turned the pool into a zoo. My kids couldn’t even swim without getting jumped on, or having the little boys hitting on them. Their parents just sat there watching, drinking their mixed drinks. What a joke. And and not to mention the restaurant, I paid extra for breakfast, so on the first morning I was able to order French toast, bacon, eggs for one meal with a drink and the second meal was pancakes with bacon, eggs and a drink. On the second morning they said I couldn’t order that again and said there’s a separate menu for the breakfast that you get with your room. $20 gets you a cheese omelette, bagel, a scoop of yogurt and granola plus old fruit. DO NOT STAY HERE

Staff very courteous and prompt to issues. Facility is clean and close to freeway.

My stay here was absolutely amazing! The staff was very friendly and everything was best and tidy. The restaurant inside served delicious food and was very kind in preparing it for me to eat in my room.

Overall it was a decent experience. The staff was not always friendly but overall they were okay. There was a gentlemen at the desk who was extremely friendly and helpful but two women were not very kind to us. We had a special needs child with us who makes noises involuntarily but they still continually told us to keep him quiet. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely horrible. The room was nice but we paid for complimentary breakfast but at the last minute was told that we did not get breakfast. It was a decent stay, the pool was nice but the staff could use some retraining.
