This was our first time staying at the JW Marriot and we were very pleasantly surprised! What a great place for families. There are many activities and there are several pools and waterslides. We really enjoyed our little staycation!

Navigating the check-in process was a bit rocky. Initially, the first receptionist didn't request identification and promptly handed over our key after I stated my name. There was also a slight discrepancy regarding the length of our stay, which was quickly corrected. However, upon reaching our assigned room, we were surprised to find it already occupied.
We returned to the front desk and spoke with a different receptionist who apologized for the error, explaining that another guest shared my name. She reconfirmed our one-night reservation and provided new keys. Unfortunately, these keys failed to grant us access to the second room.
Finally, we approached the platinum/gold reception desk versus the regular receptionist line and Ken was incredibly apologetic. She acknowledged the inconvenience, generously upgraded our room, and thankfully, these keys worked. This series of issues was particularly frustrating considering our early 2 am wake-up, a 5-hour drive to the airport, and our arrival at the hotel around 3 pm, with a wedding to attend at 6 pm.

It was a great property. However, upon arrival, their staff, Dallas, told us he “upgraded” us when they actually the did not give us the room we had purchased. We had a room with a balcony and they gave us one without. There was a convention and I suspect they gave away our room. I didn’t appreciate the dishonesty. When I brought it to their attention, they said we will add $50 to your account. No apologies. Very cold. I really didn’t appreciate their dismissive approach.

The mandatory bell service is very annoying. Both arriving and leaving, we were in a rush (arriving because we were only staying one night and wanted the kids to experience the pool) and leaving because I had just found out my dad was close to passing and I needed to get to the airport asap. Both times, we had to wait on the darn bellman with the dolly, which really upset me. Guests should have the option to take up their own luggage. It’s really offensive that this is not an option. The hotel was fabulous except for this one thing

Pina Coladas were $18 before taxes and tip. They tasted terrible. Worst I've every had.
Called room service and requested an extra blanket last nigh. They brought a thin bed sheet.
The common bathrooms were not clean. The ones by the water park were disgusting. Dirty, out of hand soap, and out of towels to dry hands.
You have to pay for wifi if you are not a part of their special program.
Completely disappointed and feel like I threw my money away.

What I did not like was when we checked in on Friday, everyone was checking in at Marriott Bonvoy = other desks were closed so there was a delay. And we ordered room service breakfast on Saturday morning and I ordered medium poached eggs but the withe on the inside was still runny, completely raw
