Cant tecommend tnis place enough. Great Location, layout, staff and facilities. Has an effortlessly cool feel to it, with the Roof being a definite highlight. Blew all expectations, what a hotel, what a city ! Amazing

Had an awesome stay at Public. It’s in such a great location and the hotel has lots of amenities. Its a little noisy at night but thats pretty much anywhere in New York. Definitely will stay here again on future trips

Please don’t waste your money. Staff is non existent, room is not comfortable, it is not worth what you pay for. I know the location is supposed to be worth it but honestly it isn’t. So expensive for a tiny tiny bedroom where you get two towels for two people. It’s a self service hotel now so good luck getting the staff to help you with anything. The security guy at the hotel signed for a package I had delivered to the property and lost it, a $350 USD package ! Even though I alerted the hotel before hand about the delivery and it was signed by Gabe, their security guy, no one could give me an answer about my package, and it was lost. Truly such a bad experience.

Tiny rooms, heat/air was slow to change, no amenities in the room (mini bar /coffee), no front desk just kiosks. All the restaurant and bars are closed until the evening only thing open was a very crowded juice bar. Over all yes this is a trendy hotel, I think I’m much more interested in a boutique hotel. On the positive end their blackout curtains (when they didn’t get stuck) were incredible those deserve 5 stars.

Amazing location, very close to all shops and restaurants. The hotel is nice, modern, clean overall. We stayed in the king room which has a nice view of the city and even Brooklyn bridge! Didn’t make it to the rooftop but it was very busy around the hotel at night due to the rooftop. Not a negative just something to be mindful of. Overall 10/10 will stay again and would recommend if you want to be close to Soho

Loved this property! Clean, comfortable, fantastic aesthetic! Great coffee and snack bar, restaurant, roof top, exercise amenities! It was the perfect choice to be close to where my daughter lives while visiting her! I’ll definitely be back and would recommend!

I would definitely add better signage for access to the roof top bar. Very confusing to find!
In addition, the alternative baggage storage in the makeshift room was a bit off putting. I understand they had some good measures setup, but I did feel uneasy having my stuff in that storage room for 2 hours.
It was definitely not its intended purpose to be a storage room, meaning there is probably no security cameras in that room. I trust the staff to be honest, but it is something to make note of if you’re coming before your check in or 3.

The hotel is in a terrific location and right next to 2nd AV mta station so travel to and fro is easy using the subway. The views from my high floor great view queen room 1439 did not disappoint. We had the reverse aka landside view of lower Manhattan skyline. Room was decent size given Manhattan.
The Roof was great, but there was some corporate private event in progress so did not stay long. Please note that you need to go to Lobby level to get to the 18th floor rooftop. There will be a manned elevator to take you up.
The big negative is complete lack of front desk service. We asked for an extra blanket that never showed up. Room service was great though, but they could not help with any requests (which is the norm and they pointed us to the front desk). Their app is a joke so don't bother. There is also no hot water kettle or coffee/tea in the room. However, Embriago Cafe, one and a half blocks over proved to be the key for an old timey cafe experience in the morning! So check that out.
If you do not need service or any extra items then stay here. It's close to shops and restaurants and is modern and clean. Get a higher floor room. But do not expect any front desk service for any extra requests.

My room did not have a bathroom door, not sure how this is considered acceptable? and being on the 3rd floor, the club was directly beneath me, so every night the walls and bed were vibrating with the bass until after 2am. Highly recommend to select ‘higher floor’ if you are booking here. The lobby was a nice place to work. I left behind my computer charger by mistake, still plugged in the wall in my room, called back the same day I checked out to ask if I could pick it up, and was told that ‘nothing was recovered from the room’ so it apparently went missing between my leaving the room at check out and the cleaning team arriving? When I asked what security would recommend doing in recourse bc I was certain it was left behind, I was told ‘I recommend you recheck your bags’…I would say that was the final straw in giving this place a subpar review.
