Ramada by Wyndham Hancock Waterfront

There is no elevator so something to keep in mind if you have trouble with stairs or lots of luggage. 2nd floor has no amenities like ice maker or vending machines - that is all of the lobby. Location is convenient to MTU and downtown Houghton. Pool was nice. In-house restaurant and lounge are no longer open.

Its very conveniently located & the lake view is really nice. This property needs to be more open about the fact that there is no elevator on this property. I watched older folks & people who are not as mobile struggling to get up to the 2nd floor. Also the property is older & could use an upgrade/refurb. Overall it's ok.

I highly recommend staying here when visiting the Houghton/Hancock area. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Our room overlooked the water- very nice. We also enjoyed the pool, sauna and hot tub. Breakfast was decent in the morning as well.

I was told by the manager that they would issue me a deduction of $25.00 for my stay. I am told I have to get this from Xpedia.

Ramada Waterfront is another "not exactly as Internet says it is" Wyndham property. Having looked up the site online I was happy to see that there was a restaurant listed in some "hits"! But in reality, it is CLOSED and has been for five years. The person who checked us in stated this matter-of-fact and when I expressed disappointment, he offered to cancel my reservation on the spot. At 3pm? Afetr a 300-mile drive? And it is VERY difficult to get into and out of the property in Hancock. We asked -- we were NOT offered -- about dinner options. Well, says the clerk, there's a Mexican place that way (indicates downtown Hancock) etc. ... *My* mistake was in not calling the motel myself to ask specific questions -- the second experience I've had with Expedia reservations. Lesson learned. If you want to know the specific, up-to-date condition/availability of properties, CALL!

Very friendly check in. Room was perfect. Comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom had everything you would need. A pretty good breakfast too. Had hot food and cold options.

Beautiful location.

Hotel seemed clean and room furnishings were updated in areas and not in others (husband cannot stand the small toilets) but the location was great (fished from the doc/pier right there) and we enjoyed the room and hot tub. No elevator’s which was kind of a pain for a 4 night stay on the 2nd floor luggage wise. Bed was extremely comfortable though too. Breakfast was VERY basic: think continental and microwave breakfast sandwiches. Could definitely use some improvements here.

Did not have a good choice for breakfast. The mattress was to short for the frame of the bed.

The view is breathtaking!! The rooms were very nice and the Continental breakfast was great with plenty of options.
