Sirata St. Pete Beach

Let me start with the bad. Buyer beware do not book this hotel through Expedia. They will banish you to building 3 and 4 which have not been updated. Call Sarita and ask for the main building. Apparently the hotel was taken over by Hilton and they have yet to take over Sarita buildings (according to the front desk). Since we booked through Expedia we were in building 4 which was less than desirable. When we asked to move the room we were not accommodated and were told it was because we booked through Expedia. Which I find suspect. If I am a paying guest it should not matter where I book from. It’s was mid week and we would have taken a lesser room in the main building. Another downside was they charge way too much for chairs and umbrellas. The tradewinds and Rumfish chairs are free and they are set up daily. It makes the resort more inviting. Even if the resort just provides the Lounge chairs and charges for umbrellas and the larger cabana beds. No one when I was there purchased any and they were stacked and made the beach area look uninviting. With all that said there’s def positives. The location is amazing. The amenities , two pools and beach bars were great. Live music was played daily. Food was great with lots of additional options so close. We asked for a late check out and was accommodated. We had a great time. So I feel like the Sarita won us over in the end. I still enjoyed my previous stay at the Rumfish better. But have not given up on the Sarita.

We booked a last-minute anniversary trip and flew in from Texas, excited for a relaxing beach getaway—but unfortunately, Sirata did not live up to expectations. The property looked run-down from the moment we arrived, and the lobby felt muggy and lifeless—not welcoming at all. While we understand the resort is recovering from hurricane damage, that reality isn’t reflected in the advertising, which felt misleading. Our room was spacious but very dated and felt stuffy. The overall vibe of the resort was tired, and several advertised amenities were either unavailable or not as described. Staff interactions were average at best—no warm hospitality or energy you’d expect from a beachfront resort. While we made the best of it, this was not the beach resort experience we were hoping for. Disappointing stay and not one we’d recommend for a special occasion.

The restaurant was under construction. Which was not revealed when I booked it. Went to the restaurant all dressed up open the door (no sign saying under construction). Went in and found out for our selves. What I payed for the hotel I expected the rooms to be nicer and cleaner. Won’t stay there again.

While I understand we were here on a holiday weekend, the pool, restaurant, bar were overcrowded. It made the pool and pool deck dirty. The rooms in the “older” building (building number four) were outdated and quite dirty. The room was not cleaned the second day of our stay. However, the staff was very accommodating and polite and understanding of our concerns.

Wedding was great! But our room air conditioner died and i had to take a cold shower before the wedding! No hot water!

When booking third party they will put you in room furtherest from the amenities that houses all their construction workers. Dampers and cheapens the experience.

Overall had an amazing stay.

I’ve stayed at Sirata 6–7 times over the past 10 years, and it’s usually great—but this most recent visit fell far short. Our room didn’t appear properly cleaned. The beds were made, but the floor, tub, and bathroom were noticeably dirty. We were also placed between rooms with older kids who ran between rooms, drank, and made noise outside our door until 3 a.m. After a sleepless night, we moved to a higher floor—losing our balcony. In the new room the sofa bed was broken, slanted, had a stained mattress, and came with no bedding. Getting bedding took over an hour. Staff said it couldn’t be provided at the desk but never delivered it, and I had to go back down to get it myself. The staff was rude, and the front desk phone was always busy. When it rained, water leaked through the exhaust fan in the ceiling. The property overall felt neglected: used vapes and soda cups stayed in elevators for days, and bags of mulch sat untouched in common areas. Sadly, we won’t be returning to Sirata. It’s disheartening to see the decline in cleanliness, service, and professionalism—especially with rising prices. We’ve made great memories here, but next time, we’ll stay elsewhere, like Tradewinds.

Our room we started at the doors to the balcony ocean view were broke & wouldn’t open, the maintenance man tried to fix but they went off track every time you tried to open & then couldn’t close them, we couldn’t use the balcony the first several days we were there nor see view we paid for. No one offered to move us, I’m a night person so I went down late night & spoke to a man overnight & he gave me several room keys until I was so frustrated I was about to ask for a refund & leave but then he handed me a key to a room that wasn’t a king suite but did have 2 queen beds & sliding balcony doors on the end of the unit so we stayed & it ended up being a decent room. He was very nice & helpful. However we only got housekeeping twice in the 5 nights we stayed & once we because we asked front desk and then a housekeeper & she said her English was bad & we said we need clean towels & have trash & that was all we got. The rooms are overpriced on the building 3 and 4 non remodeled rooms, they have sold the other remodeled building to Hilton. No help with bags/ no bellhop! Every sink was clogged up. 2 pools kids at both. The 2 restaurants are the same menus just on 2 different sides of the hotel & the third was closed for remodeling, so they really only have one restaurant. A bowel of cereal was $9.50 CB and FF was $20. No one told us how to get around I asked the cashier at a T-shirt shop next door. Call Island hoppers they are great for rides around they work on tips!

Although the staff was very good, the room was a disappointment. I booked a King suite with a Gulf view (I spoke to a hotel representative before the trip and obtained the room number 4545) the room we were given was different. The patio door wouldn’t open the front room door wouldn’t latch properly. The microwave didn’t work (they gave us a counter top one where the clock didn’t work. You could have pushed a piece of toast under the room door, the shelf in the bathroom that was meant to hold towels was gone. When you use a third party booking service (in my case Expedia) the property is less willing to resolve issues. Shout out to the Rum Runners staff especially Dominick and thanks to Mark and Derek at the front desk
