Smart Stay Inn

Black Mold was found on the ceiling all over. I did tell the front desk, I wasn’t going to write a review, but I have to warn others. Only booked it because it was fairly cheap. I stayed for one night out of nine.

The place is sketch. Started with being greeted by the staff behind bullet proof glass. Walked into the room which stunk and the top sheet had a burn hole right on top. That’s as far as we made it in the room and then we left and booked a different spot elsewhere.

Got a room here after I left another hotel because I did not feel safe at the other. The guy came out to my car to give me my room key and he was nice. The area seemed safe. The beds were comfortable The room was clean.

The only pro, besides the cost, was the AC worked but that’s it. The room wasn’t cleaned properly since the last guest. There was long hair on the sink counter and the bathroom floor. I’m guessing they brought their dog/animal, because there was kibble bits (or some dry food) on the floor. Also the sheets looked/smelled clean but when I got into bed it had a gritty texture like they were dirty. The WiFi was also slow. I normally don’t care since I use my data but I struggled to get a reliable single in my room (on T-Mobile). And worse - the toilet wasn’t clean! There was left over “dirt” on the back of the toilet seat from somewhere sitting on it before. If I didn’t check in late and wasn’t exhausted I would have complained but I just knocked out and took a thorough shower before leaving.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They are well on their way to renovating the facilities. Our room was clean, the beds were firm, the sheets and comforter were quality products, and the AC had to be turned up so we weren’t too cold. This place is a great value.

I found that the best part about the stay was how comfortable the bed was. Everything was just not the best. The blankets on the bed were kinda weird and not super comfy or functional once they get moved out of place. The beds are pretty small too so it felt cramped trying to sleep with two adults in one bed. There are hardwood floors but I honestly would love to know the last time the floors were actually mopped to say that it turned anything that was on it for a while black. There was a smell of cleaning products in the air but I am not sure what was actually cleaned with it. It took a while to figure out how to work the shower and it wasn’t the best. The water kept fluctuating from hot to lukewarm then back hot again. The tub wasn’t very clean and looked strange with the hard water stains. There was hair still left behind from a previous guest. A quick clean from myself made everything at least useable. The placement of the log hut fixtures was a bit confusing and took getting used to. I didn’t like randomly bumping my leg on the bed frame either. We had to also play some background noise in order to help drown out the noise from the interstate that’s right next to the hotel. WiFi was also pretty slow. It was a lot easier to use the phone hotspot to connect devices to.

Great stay!

The trash had not been emptied, the floors were filthy and the wallpaper and ceiling were falling down in the bathroom.

Room was clean. Quiet night. Decent breakfast. Worth the money. Only suggestion is to hire a professional to do bathroom updates, very sloppy work.

Absolutely satisfying

Perfect for one night stay, newly renovated and very comfortable.

Bathroom towels were filthy. Large water stain with paint peeling off on the ceiling. Good thing the floor is not carpet. First room given to us smell horrible even-though it was non-smoking room. Staff was helpful and switched the room for us. The star given is solely for service and friendly staff.
