We absolutely loved our stay - it was everything we hoped for and more. Renting bikes and exploring the nearby beaches, charming shops, peaceful parks, and fantastic restaurants made every day feel like an adventure. The pool was perfect, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder - every interaction was warm and welcoming!
The resort itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and excellent in-house dining options. We especially loved the little touches that made our stay so memorable: being served frozen drinks and lunch poolside, joining in on the fun with daily bingo, relaxing by the firepit in the evenings, and watching the turtles in the pond. The beach access was a dream - we spent hours soaking up the sun and enjoying the natural beauty.
This was our first time visiting South Carolina, and we’re so grateful we chose Hilton Head and the Sonesta. We’re already making plans to return. Thank you for such a wonderful and unforgettable vacation!

Had a great weekend stay at the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head! The staff was friendly and the renovated guest rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable! Even with the resort under construction, nothing was off limits and the beach access was incredible.
Would recommend, and just a note that first floor rooms tend to be for pets. This was not a problem for us but might be for future guests so if it is, book a higher floor!

The location of the property is perfect. Access to the beach is steps away. The staff is very friendly and they were able to accommodate my ask for an upper room due to being a solo female traveler. The neighborhood is very safe and friendly for a solo female travelers, and offers many choices of restaurants and shopping.
Kathy with the activities department went above and beyond in coming to my rescue when the chain on the bike I was renting fell off. A huge thank you to Kathy!
My one negative of this property was the construction that is going on. The jackhammering and beeping of the trucks made it impossible to enjoy the pool and facilities at the hotel. I had to go to the beach each day to escape the noise. I felt that the resort fee should have been reduced due to this inconvenience.
I would recommend this hotel for the future but beware at this time unless the noise of construction doesn’t bother you. Hopefully this project will be done soon. I’m sure it will be beautiful when it is.
Overall I would return to this hotel and my trip to Hilton Head was wonderful.

No, we do this for a hobby somewhat of a living. We are a travel influence company. I gave the front desk faulty names because I do not even think they deserve to even know our social media handles i.e accounts. We will be telling our followers at over 2.7 million how horrendous this “resort” was to not only us, but other guests! I paid for a ocean view/partial ocean view whatever that means, and once I got to go tell the front desk attendant told us we would be upgraded, which was awesome, not needed, but awesome. Once we got to the room, we went out to the balcony, and all we heard was beeping and drills, and our view was construction and chaos at this ugly pool. That’s an upgrade? Strange. Once I told them about many other issues, they only gave me a partial refund and two drink vouchers. This place should be shut down until we get their act together a partial refund. What a joke if I don’t get a full refund after this review, then I will be going to the social media channels that we own.

We thought there would be an adult only pool. It was under construction. And through the Easter holiday. They didn’t stop construction so the only day we didn’t hear, hammering, sewing, and electrical tools, was Easter Sunday. We thought their shuttle would be available, it was not available any day save one. Perhaps when this facility is complete with its renovations, it will live up to the billing that we thought it would. But right now until that new pool is open I would suggest people go to another resort.

I have mixed feelings about this resort. This was a very spur of the moment trip, so we didn’t do much research before we booked. Overall the experience was okay, there’s just a few things that could have been better.
The resort itself was nice and clean. All the staff we came in contact with were very friendly. Our experience at check in was fine. I had booked a room with a King sized bed. When we checked in, we were told we had been “upgraded” and that the “view” would be better. This turned out to be completely disingenuous. When we got to our room, it was the 5th floor, but the view was the pool and it was a double queen room. They likely oversold the king, and if that was the case, that’s fine! But don’t sell it as an upgrade. There was also an adjoining room door with no soundproofing so we got to listen to our neighbors wake us up continually, at 2am then 4am. Which that is not the hotel’s fault, but I have never stayed in a hotel with such poor soundproofing.
The food on the resort was good as well, just know you’re going to pay for the convenience. There was a breakfast buffet that they charge $30 and it’s basically a holiday inn continental breakfast. Everything else we had was very good and worth the price though.
And the last note is that this is advertised as beach front, but it is a decent little walk to the beach, and there is a lot of construction going on to upgrade amenities both inside and outside.

This is a great property in a great location, was nice and quiet when we stayed. The second pool area was under construction outside of that everything was great! There’s also an awesome little coffee shop right inside the hotel.

We were not told construction was happening right outside our window. Drilling rumbling noise started early in the mornings and one day at 3AM, couldn’t sleep all night.
Also not enough staff at front desk. Most of the time nobody answered when I called guest services

More renovations going on than anticipated. Staff was very friendly but property seemed very understaffed and took a long time to get anything. Food at the restaurant was brought out wrong twice and was not on par with other local dining options. My fried oysters were awful. Would consider giving the property another chance after renovations, but too many other options on the island. I also think paying the full resort fee is a little ridiculous considering a lot was closed on the property during Spring Break. We had a good time overall but could have been a lot better.
