Vignette Collection HOTEL SPERO by IHG, an IHG Hotel

It was pretty good stay. Location is good, near cafes and bars and restaurants. Service was nice. Loved the lobby aesthetics.

Rooms are very small and do not fit 2 adults in one bed. No coffee machine in the room

The hotel is run down, the hallways smell weird and unpleasant. The staff is awesome and fun, Jon and I had great conversations and he was very attentive. The bathrooms are small and the rooms are small but that’s what you get for the decent price. The room was dusty and didn’t seem that clean when we got there but it was okay, we made due. We kept having issues with the door keycards, we did have to ask for new ones every morning. I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and need a quick place to stay but do not expect anything, keep your standards low. The area is riddled with homeless, but they did have security to open the entrance door and be on the lookout for anything sketchy going on, there is also a really good parking garage next door with 24/7 access with in and outs. The hotel location is near Union Square so that’s a plus.

Overall experience with this hotel was good. The first impression of the room was a bit different from the reservation page and image I had in mind from it… but I guess in a city like San Francisco, you can not expect too much. The lobby and entrance way was luxurious and well decorated. The room (the bathroom especially) seemed dated and some parts were old and crusty. The house keeping did a nice job cleaning well so the stay was pleasant. The front staff was kind and helpful. Visited in March.2025 and there were many homeless people living in the streets around the hotel area, sometimes making it scary to walk. Hope the city takes care of this problem soon…

Great hotel ! Clean and nice decor Bed is ok and the bathroom is really small.

4 out of 5 star. Huge line for check in and just one attendent 20 people in the restaurante and just one server. The best server ever but he can not handle alone.

The staff was the best. Very helpful. The room was exceptional and housekeeping was great. Will stay at hotel Spero whenever in San Francisco.

The only bad I can say is the next to the tenderloin street, but it was not that bad as long as you don’t go to that area.

Nicce, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Good service. This is my favorite hotel in Union Square at this price point.

This is a gem of a hotel. The area has been clean up a lot in the past couple years so it feel safe and cleaner for sure. Beautiful lobby. Walking distance to dining and shopping which is nice. Staff was very friendly. Bed was comfy!

We were there for an oncology dog appointment for my dog and the hotel said that it was pet friendly. The only issue we had there’s no place to take the dog to go to the bathroom. I asked the front desk and they said just take them out on the sidewalk And my dog is not used to going into the bathroom on the sidewalk with hundreds of people driving by and walking by so that was an inconvenience. Other than that everything was great.
