Staff were great, inside the property could do with a freshen up, painting , carpets, but overall good, I’d stay again.only one lift working and that broke down , bit of of pain being on 7th floor, but complimentary breakfast for hassle made up for it. Breakfast very good and hot . I’d stay again

The parking should be free of charge for the guests staying .
The outside doesnt do the inside justice the inside is beautiful so lovely and clean .
Very helpful and friendly staff on arrival,during and leaving.
Definitely will be staying again very soon.

Enjoyed the stay hotel is a bit dated in parts but the room was clean and the staff pleasant and helpful

Great location for a Swansea Centre gig night (thank you Manics, you were amazing as always).
Room (401) was functional but tired decor wise...the mattress was softer than I'm used to but the night was very quiet and that supported a decent night's sleep.
Breakfast was tasty, particularly excellent sausages. The one (of two) functioning lifts wasn't functioning on Sunday morning - those four flights toting a full trip bag was a pain but manageable for this 69 year old...other guests at breakfast might have found it more problematic.

My husband enjoyed the cooked breakfast but I would have liked to have had scrambled or poached instead of fried which was the only choice.
The staff were very pleasant.
The room which we were given was not very clean (the carpets, walls and doors were all pretty dirty.)The toilet, sink and shower were clean. The paint on the ceiling had large patches where the paint was peeling off.

So the property is in a good location, but it just feels very dated. Carpets are very worn. Everything just feels like it could do with updating only one of the two elevators was working and its tiny maximum free people, but it also felt a little grubby.
I thought the breakfast was good value, but on the second day, the coffee machine wasn’t working.
The staff are very friendly and try to help where they can.

Flush does not work.
No lock in the toilet.
No handwash in the toilet.
No manner from the staff. One of the staff members got inside the room without knocking while me and wife we’re sleeping.
It was a waste of money and would never recommend to anyone.

Hotel reminded me of post communist Eastern European hotels from the 90s.
Lift was tiny and only one was working.
Tried to have a shower at 8.30am and it was stone cold. Told reception when I was checking out and they told me they'd been told and had put hot water heater back on!! The hotel was full and they didn't keep the boiler on when everyone was likely to take a shower!

Sadly I was disappointed with the hotel. Having stayed in the past, it was a shame to see how tired the hotel rooms are. Bed bases were worn and ripped. The carpets in the room were stained and worn. The walls and ceiling were marked and water damaged. It doesnt feel like a 4 star hotel at all.
The reception and bar areas are still lovely, but everywhere else is in need of some tlc.
There was a large wedding party on the night we stayed and they left everywhere a tip, food and drinks tipped all over the stair cases. And they were noisy! Quite a challenge for the staff on duty.
It's ideally situated for a night in Swansea, but I dont know that I would return again.

Love the 1950’s charm of this hotel, chose to stay here over the premier inn because of that - love the staircase and the nod to past grandeur. The staff are all super friendly and professional which is really appreciated. I want impressed with the wedding party staying at the hotel who felt it appropriate to run through the corridors shouting all night, I hope they found “Wayne” who was clearly lost and in need of finding, so desperate were his friends to locate him that they felt the need to knock on every door at 2am whilst shouting for him. Kind of ruined the vibe and destroyed what was promising to be a good nights sleep.

I messaged the hotel requesting an earlier check-in, they replied through this app stating an additional charge of £30 but I didn’t get this until I arrived. I asked at reception 1pm, was told in no uncertain terms and abruptly that it would be 3pm when I could check-in. This from the (I assume the duty manager), who spoke to me at breakfast the following morning, re my concerns re the cleanliness and the extremely dated furnishings, he shared with me that the hotel was being refurbished soon. I shared photographs via email and in person at reception around 6pm (pics to follow). The plus points were that reception staff seemed to be sympathetic, the breakfast was good and the bed linen was clean. The said manager, when speaking seemed an ok guy, even though his total lack of effort in even attempting to get me into my room sooner than 3pm had already disappointed, not even an attempt at trying, and after a 4 hour drive would have been nice.
This hotel is listed as *4 honestly it’s a *2 at best.

Stayed here a few times now and it's always been a pleasant stay. Comfortable room and very clean bathroom.
The hotel is right in the town centre so is close to everything. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, there is also a very good breakfast.
