The name of the hotel says it all, Grand. From the second you walk in you can feel the history and the elegance. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure that my last two days in Sicily were perfect. Whether it was booking us a dinner reservation or bringing a complementary cake to my room for my girlfriend’s birthday they truly showed every bit of Italian hospitality. The rooms are phenomenal with huge showers and lots of natural light. We also ate at the restaurant here which was top three meals of our 2 week trip. Hope to be back soon.

Esperienza meravigliosa

This hotel was lovely. Room was spacious and very comfortable. The front desk was able to change my kids room from a double to a twin. That was very helpful and they did it with minimum disruption. The breakfast buffet was amazing. We had dessert at the restaurant and it was delicious. Walking around at night was slightly negative and the area is a bit dirty.

Para os que decidem ficar no centro histórico de Palermo, talvez o Des palmes seja uma boa opção, pela localização. Hotel precisa ser reformado, tudo muito antigo. Valor alto para o que oferece.

Beautiful building and interior. Staff was amazing!

The concierge staff are professional, helpful and efficient. We loved the breakfasts (a wide array of Sicilian patisseries as well as fresh fruit and a good selection of seeds and nuts and hot food) and the beautiful dining room in which the breakfasts are held. We also loved their Gattopardo room - great for reading and cocktails before dinner. The hotel is located on a main road in a central location. Good walking distance to the main sights.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful building immaculately maintained. Staff are unfailingly polite and kind and do all they can to make your stay pleasant.

Great concierge by Vivienne ,great bell boy , however not a minute extra of late check out allowed , I was surprised since I have been a gold member of hotels.com since many years . There is no use of this membership

Super tolles Hotel. Sehr historisch

Prachtig hotel met heel veel vriendelijk personeel, maar bij met name het ontbijt doen ze niet veel, zeer ervaren in het rondkijken met de handen op de rug. Lege glazen en borden worden sporadisch meegenomen en zeker niet beide. Schoon bestek krijg je niet. Dit is een 5 sterren Luxe onwaardig

Wunderschön renoviert….mitten in der Stadt…tolles Ambiente…einfach ein Traum…war nur etwas enttäuscht, dass das Getränke und Speisenguthaben … 70 Euro…nicht für die Minibar genutzt werden kann…sondern nur im Restaurant…steht leider nirgends ….

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel et Des Palmes in Palermo for two weeks in January 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel's rich history as a former castle has been beautifully preserved, and its stunning architecture and decor only added to our enchantment. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the warm and welcoming staff. The entire front desk team and concierge were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Special mention must be made of Marina, who introduced us to some of the most authentic and wonderful local Sicilian gems, hidden away from the usual tourist trails. Her insider knowledge and passion for the region were invaluable, and we felt like we experienced the real Sicily thanks to her recommendations and professionalism. Bruno, too, was a huge help, assisting us in finding our way around the city and providing us with expert advice. His kindness and expertise made a significant difference to our stay, and we're so grateful to have had him as a resource. The cleanliness of the room was beyond our expectations, and the breakfast in the morning was complete and nutritional. What struck us most, however, was the hotel's reputation among the locals. Every time we mentioned the hotel's name to anyone in Palermo, their response was and full of fond memories. One business owner in a boutique I shopped at told me she got married 30 years ago in the hotel. Amazing place

We enjoyed this hotel and if we come back to Palermo we would stay there again. The food was wonderful and the location is great for seeing some parts of the city.
