This is a very cool place in a great location. Just avoid rooms in the high 130s/low 140s. Those rooms are directly below the breakfast room so all you hear from 6 - 9 is stomping, talking and squeaking chairs.

The weathering and aging of the balcony deck was a turn off. Also, the exterior waterfront area was not inviting. Very old structures, some overgrowth and bare areas.

Friendly. Loved the view. Small breakfast bar, but great staff. Excellent! We would stay there again. Old timey.

Check in was wonderful!

A quaint little abode. The Bavarian haus was a great place to stay to enjoy fireworks and festivities for the 4th of July. They definitely need to do some remodeling, updates and replace the carpets but otherwise the room was nice and clean. Unfortunately there was no cleaning staff and we had to ration our towels. The balcony looking out onto the water was grate but the banister was a little rickety. The front office staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to purchase ferry tickets to Mackinac island from them directly and have a shuttle service pick us up for the ferry which was very convenient!

It is a nice quiet place to stay right on the lake. The view of Mackinac Island absolutely gorgeous.

The Bavarian is a good value for being right on the beach. However, the property is dated, the breakfast could improve, and it could be cleaner.

Loved the spa hot tub, staff was very helpful as well.

Great view! Out toddler loved pool, though it seems a little bit old. Beach area is nice for walking.

Every room has a priceless view.

The VIEW was a 5. Room was updated and clean. Easy parking. Great food nearby.

Best value for the price

Property is on the beach but the beach is dirty and rocky. They did have cornhole and horseshoes out near the beach which was a plus. Breakfast was ok. The biggest problem was swarms and swarms of flying insects(bigger than gnats) flying around everywhere.

The front desk ladies were so nice and gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants. Hotel is a little shabby. It’s been around for a while. We did not have a microwave in our room which was listed on the amenities. However, it was clean. The view from the room was fabulous. We were right on the beach of Lake Huron.

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I was to stay here! Please read on to the end! I stayed in the Bavarian Haus for only one night, but enjoyed my stay. The room had a fridge and a microwave was available near my room. The breakfast had enough options to get me started for the day. The room was exceptionally quiet and I woke up to the sun rising over the lake (beautiful!). The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond for me as I checked out. My back tire was completely flat the morning I checked out (I ran over a screw during my drive to the UP). I was unsure how to change a tire and asked the kind lady behind the desk. She immediately called the gentleman working maintenance to help. He graciously changed my tire out in the cold weather. This allowed me to safely drive 7 hours back home to Wisconsin. I cannot tell you how grateful I was for the caring staff!! Thank you, Sarah C.
