Excellent breakfast! Parking is a problem but staff was friendly and location was great

You know how sometimes the best surprises come in the least expected packages? That's exactly how I feel about my recent stay at Hotel Heimen in Bergen! Honestly, walking up, I wasn't sure what to expect from the exterior. But step inside, and you're transported to a place brimming with history and charm. This isn't just any hotel – it's Bergen's very first established hotel, and you can feel that legacy in every corner. And the location? Absolutely unbeatable! Seriously, everything is within walking distance: the train station, the bustling port, and all the incredible attractions Bergen has to offer. My feet thanked me every day! But let's talk about the real MVP of my stay: the breakfast! The restaurant area, though small, was incredibly cozy and inviting. And the breakfast spread itself? Oh. My. Goodness. It was super complete and absolutely delicious. The perfect fuel for a day of exploring. I can't recommend enough. If you're looking for a hotel that offers an incredible location, a cozy atmosphere, and a breakfast that will make your taste buds sing, look no further. This place is a definite 1000% recommendation from me!

A nice hotel, close to everything. You can conviniently take a midday break after exploring the city.

A little out of the way from the main attractions in town, but that keeps things quiet. The staff are professional yet pleasant enough. The breakfast matches the independent hotel vibes. The room is simple, and snug, but gets the job done. The bathroom (especially the shower) is small, but again is fine for a couple nights.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Heimen Hotel. The building is historic – the hotel has been around since 1918 – but the rooms and bathrooms are modern and well-equipped. The TV had a built-in Chromecast, although there was no fridge in the room. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the air conditioning in the room as well as underfloor heating in the bathroom. Breakfast offered a good variety and was tasty. The hotel is located just off a shopping street and about a 10-minute walk from Bryggen, so the location is very convenient.

Good hotel in short walking distance to harbor area and restaurants. Single room was extra small in comparison to other hotels I stayed in Norway. I asked to extend my stay because of bad weather but because of VERY dynamic pricing I decided against it, the price almost doubled in comparison to original booking I made two days prior.

Great location and delicious breakfast. The room 306 is good with balcony but for solo person. If two it would be crowded as room is small. They don't have restaurant. But Bergen is not cheap. The regular fast food from kiosk is about $30. Ordering Wolt delivery will be the same. So, Norway is not cheap destination to travel to if you are in budget
