Good stopover location en route to Quebec

Out of the kindness of the hotel owner, they had opted to house the homeless after the local Mayor decided to stop funding for the local homeless shelter. This, on its own, is wonderful and I think speaks volume to the kind of people running this place. Kudos to you all!! BUT I should have been told before checking in and given a choice of whether or not to be involved. I was there alone with my 12 year old daughter, and although I was assured there were security guards on site, I felt very vulnerable. Every time we left our room, whether to go to dinner or to the pool, we were met with some sort of event happening in the lobby. One time there was a paramedic speaking with someone who appeared to be under the influence, the next time there were two individuals yelling and the security had to threaten to take someone to the police station I was very frustrated that this was my "vacation". We actually had to switch rooms because we had an external patio door in our room and when we returned from dinner there were new foot prints leading up to our door, including the a foot print on the sill looking like someone had tried to open our door. (We didn't use the external doors and there were no footprints before we left). Again, it's a fine line... Because as a Christian, I thought this was an amazing gesture the Comfort Inn was offering, especially on such a cold night... But as a patron, I should have been given a choice of whether or not I wished to be involved. I am not happy

The room was clean, and the staff was great. Hockey weekend, so lots of noisy boys.... but that was ok.

I liked that it was right off the 401 with immediate access to restaurants and grocery stores.

Clean modern rooms. Excellent breakfast room and really appreciated the snacks (popcorn and cookies) near the reception desk when we arrived. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
