The only thing we didn't like was the heights for the bunk bed. It was too tall for our family of toddlers. Otherwise, it was great!

Pool and hot tub nice, rooms clean, nice breakfast

We were not informed about the $100 deposit. Even though it is refunded to you after your stay, it would have been nice to be informed beforehand that there is such a high deposit. Also, our room was adjacent to the freeway and it was EXTREMELY loud at night. That’s not the hotel’s fault but next time we will request a room on the other side of the building if possible. Besides that, everything was satisfactory and the room was clean. Friendly receptionist as well.

Affordable price and complimentary upgrade along with free welcome gift (water and snack). After arriving late evening close to midnight, there was a car parked with folks waiting in the car with no inside and outside lights on as if trying to snatch things and run away, so when I the front desk lady (only one employee working) walk me to the unit in the other building and too at the back of the building, the window screen was torn open on top right and the waiting car disappeared soon after, I.e., I ended up worrying at night until I fell asleep!

Was charged a “no show” fee $166 even though we were there for our stay and paid our dues. First room the king size bed was broken when their incompetent employee moved us to a new room their system created another reservation. The new room on the third floor had roaches; the first room smelled like a trap house. Kevin Jimenez will not return my inquiries to make this right. I am currently escalating the situation through la Quinta headquarters and Discover — months after the fact!! Any similar situations?? If so how did you get your money back!!

The front desk receptionist was very rude the entire time we were there.

Oh sooooo NOISY!!! Slept there for 2 nights but slept is an overstatement!!! Did NOT SLEEP at all! Windows are paper thin so you can hear the traffic all night! And the AC could not be any louder!!! So you pick between being boiling hot or the insane noise… plus it is old and dingy… one star

Great location, great staff.

The property was great, we had no issues checking in and out. The room was clean with plenty towels. The staff was friendly and responsive to any of our questions or needs. The breakfast area was packed the weekend we stood, but we were still able to eat and enjoy a quick bite before our day. The beach is minutes away. We loved the convenience of being near the beach and Legoland. Downtown Carlsbad was really nice as well. We will be back!

Would not recommend. The check-in process was chaotic and the woman up front was unprofessional, disorganized, and slow. Once we checked into to the room there was this overwhelming stench, ripped up carpet, stained pictures, stained phone, and rotting bath tub.

Place was non smoking and smelt like a cigarette bag and musty. On top of that the place had a book now pay later option an charged me the day before without consent and also charged the holding fee without consent to charge when its suppose to be a hold. Terrible experience and would not recommend anyone stay here.

I prepaid through Expedia, but yet La Quinta Inn charge me again. I would like a refund. It’s been over 10 days. They told me it would be no more than 10 days. No one will answer the phone when I call. My number is 228383-6128.
