We where disappointed with the overall experience we had at the hotel. The Hilton brand come with a certain level of expected Luxury, however this was clearly not met. There where a few small issues with the room which we felt should have been delbt with however, obviously not been looked at for a long while. This included the sink trap not working properly, USB sockets not working and a kettle which must have had a soup or broth heated in it as there where spring onion, seads and other food items at the bottom. These things should EASALY be picked up by the cleaning team and passed on to maintinance. While on the topic of the cleaning team, I find it unacceptable for the team to be knocking on the door hourly from 9 am and talking loudly outside the door. When a hotel has a checkout time of 12 o'clock, I would think the cleaning teams would be expected to leave the booked rooms until checkout time.
The parking is £20 per night...apparently (even after a kind member of staff gave us a discount code). we did not expect to have to pay this extra fee, on top of the room price. Just make sure to be careful while using the parking facilities as the state of the tarmac is diabolical, a few punctures waiting to happen especially in smaller vehicles. For the price of parking I would expect a "pot hole" free parking lot.
Overall this Hilton did not meet the 4 star Hilton quality.
On a positive note, the reception staff where very friendly welcoming and helpful.
