Owner/manager was pretty rude. I opted to pay at the property and he started charging my card 2 days before (I was denying the charge because I didn’t want to be charged twice) then called me the day of check-in to tell me I had 30 minutes to pay before they gave my reservation away (this was at 12:30 and check-in is at 4) I once again reminded him that I opted to pay at the hotel at check-in. He eventually let me pay at the property as I had requested. Breakfast was ok at best. Decent variety of foods but the “cooked” food tasted like trash. They also are doing construction. I assume to remodel the inside. While my room was fine there were a lot of boxes and tiles scattered around the hotel. The elevator was scary to the point of not trusting it.. it started moving before the doors were shut. Location is better than other Stevensville hotels. But I have had MUCH better experiences at the other hotels and paid considerably less. Overall I would suggest a different hotel unless the extra 4 mile drive means a lot to you

When does a Holiday Inn Express ever disappoint? Very rarely, but out of 3 total stays here from me, this is my go to for my wife and I when we come visit Lake Michigan.

Our tub was clogged during our stay, the toilet had a hard time flushing. There were also stains on the carpet. The room was in desperate need of being renovated. Most of the rooms in the hotel have been but ours was not.

Check in was smooth. Parking lot was crowded but not full. Staff was courteous and accommodating. Room was great. Only there one night but could stay at least 2-3 l.

Great location. Rooms were surprisingly quiet, even with all the weekend family/kids running around. Very friendly staff.

We always try to stay in a Holiday Inn Express, as we feel they provide a great value for the money spent. This location was mediocre. My husband and kids always enjoy the hot breakfast, but everything else left something to be desired. The pool wasn't clean, there was a film on the water when it's not in use, and did not make me want to allow my children to use it. We checked in on a Monday, and I had to ask on Thursday to have the room serviced, as housekeeping had not been in at all. Daily, we had to ask for towels (one day I was even told I could not have 1 towel for each person in my room, I could only have 2 as they did not have enough), and we had to put our trash outside of our room each morning and ask for new trash can liners. Overall, we were happy with the location and our stay, but I was disappointed in the care that the staff put into taking care of their guests. It certainly didn't feel like the value for our dollar that we typically get when staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

Quiet and easy access to the highway.

We couldn’t check in 30min early since the room wasn’t “ready” but yet there were no cars in the parking lot. We stayed during the week so I don’t think it was even crowded. Also, the hot tub jets did not work well/string. The room itself was fine/clean and comfortable.

Seemed like it was recently renovated. Love the location and the kids loved the pool.

Excellent location by Lake Michigan. But though updated room, some refinishing of doors was yet to be done.

Good place to stay.

Great room! We stayed in the whirlpool room, super clean. We were advised to have dinner at Lakeside restaurant next-door to this hotel, and it was not good. We walked in the door. It smelled like sewer. The food was not great at all, and super overpriced.

The room was amazingly spacious. The updated shower was wonderful. My only small critique was that when I walked around the room, the cabinet/tv area would make a creaking sound. I just thought that that would be more annoying for the room next to us, than us. The location near the lake and close to St. Joseph was perfect.

Location is good.

Floors were dirty, ceiling fan covered in dust, vent above jetted tub had dust hanging off of it which fell on the tile behind the jetted tub, jetted tub had pubes in it and the tile on the floor had a big sticky spot. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, in the shower and on the curtains. Cob webs on the ceiling. Microwave and fridge not cleaned. Bed skirt had rips on it and the couch had stains. Ants on the tile and gnats in the bathroom. Disgusting and no refund.

Door to my room did not fully close unless I applied extra pressure. The room was not attractive. The shower shelf was gritty. The AC unit was noisy. I would have expected these kinds of things had I paid half as much for the room. Not a good value for the money.
