The hotel was a delightful surpise; charming architecture and decor with several lounge rooms and 3 restaurants off the reception area. Our room, though not “large” was bigger than most rooms on our trip, including luxury hotels we stayed in. It was immaculately clean and well furnished with a small refrigerator, small dining table, comfortable chairs, and desk area. It is an older hotel but renovated well. It was quiet even though our room was off a large, beautiful lawn area where guests enjoyed drink and food outdoors, and we didn’t hear guests in adjacent rooms. (I did feel that the mattress was too soft and resulted in a bit of pain in my 77 year old back through the night.) The staff was amazing in their professionalism and efficiency! The restaurant was full of character and, though very busy, there was an abundance of wait staff, who were so pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent. The train station was an 8 minute walk for us (and we are 77 and 80 years old!) It is about a 20 minute drive to Shannon Airport. We used the hotel for an overnight stay so that we could take a boat tour from the town of Doolin to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. We took a bus from the train station out to Doolin (1 hour ride) and a 45 minute taxi ride back to The Ground Hotel in Ennis after our delightful boat tour.

Great service, very good location, good dining and drink options at the hotel, and a very nice room with comfortable bed. All good!

We loved this hotel. The location is terrific, comfortable beds, spacious and spotless bathroom, the restaurant food and the kind staff helped us navigate the hotel and town. We will stay at this hotel each time we go to Ireland! Wonderful!

Loved staying in a place with a history. Breakfast was great (although it could be hard to get a second cup of coffee). And the attached restaurant was very nice. Our bathroom had a drip in the shower and although we told the staff multiple times, it did not get fixed during our stay. We slept with the bathroom door closed.

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of Ennis. Beautiful rooms, wonderfully helpful staff and excellent food! We highly recommend!!

La chambre était très grande et bien équipée, mais avec un matelas un peu inconfortable (irrégulièrement mou). Bonne douche, bonne clim, chambre très calme. Le petit déjeuner est convenable : le menu est varié, mais il a fallu attendre pour pouvoir avoir une table, et les oeufs brouillés étaient secs.

Es ist ein traditionsreiches Hotel mit Geschichte, schön, historisch und sauber, schöne Restaurants und sehr gute Küche, auch das Pub war gut besetzt.

Loved the atmosphere, and the hotel cat!

When arriving to the property turn into the 1st driveway. It's not marked and Google maps takes you to the 2nd driveway which is an exit only. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Rooms were clean but you might have to walk up a 1/2 flight of stairs depending on where your room is. The Poets Corner bar has an excellent selection of rare Irish Whiskey. There was no trad music this night but the atmosphere more than made up for it. Highly recommend if your looking for somewhere quiet and not in a larger city.

Loved the traditional decor. Bed was very comfy but the room was hot & there was only one small window in the bathroom that opened. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, friendly & helpful. The food came very quickly so I felt a bit rushed but it was very good.

We had a change of plans and tho hotel staff were so helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely relaxing stay. All the staff were very polite and professional. The hotel looks tired in places and could do with a make over but still in keeping with the old building. Food wasn’t great in the bar area. Food very bland and very limited menu.

Abbiamo pernottato solo una notte purtroppo, hotel bellissimo, pulito, camera familiare molto spaziosa, doccia grande. Personale molto gentile Il bar stile irish è stupendo e abbiamo mangiato molto bene! Sicuramente lo consigliamo.
