This hotel is obviously struggling and standards are slipping and corners being cut which is a shame as the building is a lovely example of victorian gothic.

De Vere Tortworth Court is a beautiful and unique mansion, completely surrounded by nature, built over 170 years ago. We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. Penhalingon's products in the bathrooms Plenty of free parking space Things that need improvement: We stayed for 3 nights in a standard room, and it was okay. The room is quite comfortable and of a decent size, even though it’s quite old – I would suggest upgrading to a more premium room. The bathroom needs maintenance… the sink was extremely impractical to use, as it had two separate faucets: one for cold water and the other for hot water. As it is a very old mansion, the rooms are not soundproof, and we could hear every step and conversation from other guests. There was no fridge in the room and no bathrobes or slippers provided for the spa. The spa was disappointing. The main pool was cold, and the only available jacuzzi was too small and always crowded. Overall I am happy about my experience and I would come back as it is such a unique and beautiful location!

It's OK. The hotel looks better on the outside than on the inside. Sauna/Steam room/Swimming pool are good. Rooms a bit dirty and outdated. No aircon.

Room was in a state of disrepair. Shower, paint lifting off the walls. But the restaurant bars and lobby were in great condition.

A stunning property and so well kept. All staff we encountered were very helpful and a lovely breakfast with plenty of choice too. Really enjoyed our stay.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Facilities fantastic. Room was ok. Did feel that it needed carpet cleaned better, as its a dog friendly room. Which we found did have old dog hair still embedded in carpet fibres. Not disgustingly dirty, but caused alleges with us.

Great hotel in gorgeous setting, clean sumple rooms - very quiet - nice simple food in the bar, drinks on the terrace a bonus in sunny weather - nice pool and sauna area ( but not relaxing or romantic as full of kiddies making a racket - maybe consider an adult only hour to end the day ? )
