A historic hotel. The service was excellent. The bed was lush and comfortable. The bathroom and shower was small and my only complaint but would not put me off staying here again. The location was walking distance to the Forks and other tourist locations. It was busy but the valets were extremely accommodating.

I miss the morning coffee delivery.. I could hear the elevator from my room..was quite annoying…other than that ..wonderful..loved the restaurant downstairs…the waiters are superb as is the food..

There was only one lamp beside a queen bed so one person couldn’t read in bed at night. There was no CBC available on the TV. The elevator was either very slow or not working.

Great location, but paying premium nightly rates for a motel quality room was disappointing. The bathrooms are from the 60’s, no in room fridge, and the floors were filthy. Definitely not worth $3-400 a night.

It’s in a great location within walking distance of tourist attractions such as the Forks and Human Rights Museum. The property also has historical charm. However, the bathroom condition was something you find in a motel, and had unpleasant odor during my 2 nights stay. Because if that happened, I would not return to the hotel in the future

Lovely experience in an historic railway hotel. Winnipeg is a joy to move about in. Pizza in the restaurant was excellent and waitstaff was great

Love spending time in this grand hotel. It is close to everything, the staff are wonderful and the rooms are beautiful and the restaurants are top notch.

Everything was wonderful, only thing that did not make it 5/5 stars was that you have to pay to use the pool.

The hotel has all the potential to be wonderful but is actuallh just tired and worn. It's clearly in need of updates throughout, and I understand passing this off as 'historic' but, it's just old. Definitely start with updating windows to open to allow fresh air in. The musty/curry smell in our room was almost unbearable. The room furniture is mismatched and cheap looking & bathroom is stuffy with cracked, cheap looking tiles. Points for excellent service, everyone was kind and helpful. Also great location in between Canada Life Centre & the Forks. Need to add free breakfast + mini fridge in rooms. Book this hotel only if the price is right, not for a luxury experience or a special occasion. It's a 2-3 star hotel. Also, they still have Christmas decor up at Easter?

Hotel lobby, building and restaurant all lovely. The rooms are ok, not oppulent and nicely designed as you would expect. White walls and bathroom and cheap wall pics. It wouldn't be difficult to have some interior design thought through and make them feel a lot more high end. Considering what you're paying. Bed a lovely big king size, but way too soft. Room quite hot throughout the night. Be nice to have better options on the tv, at least be able to log in to netflix et al. Very basic TV! Just some very simple updates would make the stay feel 10x better.

L’hôtel est magnifique et l’ambiance dès l’arrivé est tout de suite chaleureuse et confortable. Les chambres sont belles et ont un décor unique. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est somptueux et le bœuf braisé est délicieux. Petit point négatif pour le stationnement qui est difficile à repérer, il n’y a aucune indication depuis la route.

Big bathtub, comfy bed, clean, history, and service was great!

It's a bit pricey but well worth the money. The staff is amazing and the ambience of the entire hotel is great!!

It is a beautiful old hotel. Nice and quiet staff are friendly.

Only thing I didn’t like is that there was no way to cool off the room the fan system blasted hot air the windows didn’t open but everything else was great highly recommended this place

Great stay for business trip

Our stay at The Fort Garry Hotel was excellent! Staff, especially the gentleman at the Bell Desk, were polite, and efficient, and helpful. We were pleased to find our room ready when we arrived! Bed was extremely comfortable, large bathroom, with shower in tub (great water pressure), luxurious shampoo/conditioner/shower gel and lotion, large room, large closet, with fine historic ambiance. There was in-room coffee, bottled water for purchase, a large desk, and a very comfortable armchair. Our stay in Winnipeg was due to travel plans changing and being fortunate to have stayed in such a lovely property made our time very enjoyable. It was about a 10 minute walk to the train station and a few more minutes to the Fork area which had park space, a giant Winnipeg sign, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, several restaurant options and a good selection of shops. We found our room to be quiet at night.
