Clean and comfortable hotel. Good location as can walk into the centre of Canterbury. Plenty of parking

We absolutely loved this hotel. It has character. We had good time staying here. It would be great if it has AC.

The hotel is looking great as it undergoes its changes. Stylish and bespoke bar area, fabulous room and amazing friendly staff.

Staff were all great - super polite, friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean and parts looked recently painted. Lovely large towels. Overall however the room needs renovation. Was delighted with the vegan choices for breakfast and the hot breakfast was well cooked and tasty. Hotel is currently undergoing renovations and this does impact on facilities. The areas done (reception and bar area) look great but our bedroom windows were in a terrible state and the view mainly of scaffolding. Also the hotel is set back from the road and the signage at the entrance is missing, so it is difficult to find the entrance from the road.

An aging property going under refurbishment. We stayed in a pet friendly large upgraded room, with a view of the front garden. The hotel is set back from the main road, so very peaceful. Within a 10 min walk of the city, so an excellent location. We thought the price per night on a BH weekend was competitive, which included a good breakfast and free parking, which many of the other hotels charge for, these days. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

While a super place to stay - disappointed with our dinner experience in the bar! Clearly short on staff or similar as meal took 90 minutes to arrive. The meals themselves did not represent value for money.

The hotel has recently been refurbished but still has the ‘old’ side which you can select the room for stay if you are interested in this historic experience. Those rooms will be available for cheaper prices as well. I chose to stay at the ‘newer’ side for my accommodation this time as they are usually more comfortable for a good night sleep. I was correct and the room looks amazing and spacious too! What a wonderful refurbishment with great designs. Staff were also very helpful and friendly with the hospitality service. Their breakfast or dining area seems lovely although I took it outside instead as there’s so much to do and eat outside the hotel as well. I would loved to stay here once again if I come round for a visit once again.

A few problems but they were sorted quickly

The position is great and the decoration good. The reception staff were always helpful. However, the bed was a small double and very hard and uncomfortable. Also, there was a noisy fan sound from somewhere that woke me up. I realise that beds are very subjective and the noise may only be localised but it affected me. This does not take away from the location or service. Also, the rooms were very well finished and the styling thought about.

Great location, clean quiet property. Wonderful breakfast and a top notch staff.

Lovely stay the staff were great we would stay again, unfortunately the walls a little thin and a loud sleeper next door 😴

The Wi-Fi was not adequate, always being disconnected

Poor Service, poor food quality particular at Breakfast, no hot water! One to miss.

The staffs were very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was surprisingly good with many menus to choose from (buffet style). The property is outdated (the smell reminded me of my grandma's house- definitely not a bad smell, but an "old" smell) except for the ground floor which seems to have been recently renovated. Walkable distance to the city center, though some may say it's slightly far away (10 minutes). For the price I paid, it was good value.

Still under construction and felt a bit neglected. Breakfast was understaffed and in a dark room without windows. But the room itself was clean and comfortable and parking was helpful

Abbots Barton Hotel = perfection! From check-in to check-out, everything was flawless. The staff? *Chefs kiss*—so attentive and genuinely lovely. Pro tip: Order the room service pizza at 3AM (trust me, it’s a crispy, cheesy lifeline 🍕✨). Location-wise, it’s a dream—just a short stroll to Canterbury’s heart, but blissfully quiet. Comfy rooms, zero complaints. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting!
