We ended up needing to cancel reservation. The property had a broken elevator and our room was on the 3rd floor. I have mobility issues. I don't require an ADA room since I'm not in a wheelchair currently (i have been in the past) so I never want to take one of those rooms away from someone who needs it. But I also am unable to carry luggage and kids up 3 flights of steps. We booked the hotel because of the ability to have connecting rooms with kids each in their own bed. I have a daughter with special needs, so she can't share a bed.
We booked with 3rd party booked so the hotel isn't responsible for the booking.
Expedia said that it could be canceled with no fee due to the situation. Expedia was very helpful..We still have a pending charge of about $250 on our credit card and hoping that goes away.
We ended up going about 15 minutes north to another hotel spending a lot more money, but after driving 13 hours with kids, we needed to sleep.
