Stayed here on a Saturday night and on first impressions of the reception and bar/dining/ terraced area, it looked as if the hotel had been given a bit of an uplift, the outside was in keeping with the era with the local buildings and ones dating back to 1900s.
The pool etc and gym were good and enjoyed them.
What wasn’t good was the state of the room, which was in a god awful state of repair, with evidence in insect damaged carpet, lack of painting for a number of years, wood facias all scuffed and chipped, the shower screen having no rubber strip to prevent water dropping onto the floor.
The last part caused water to pour onto the bathroom floor and caused us to get extra towels to shower with as we soaked everything up that had leaked out.
The furniture and fitting in bathroom were very dated too.
I would have asked for a different room but the hotel was fully booked for the night.
The bedding and cleanliness of the room was ok and the only reason we stayed there.
I would say at £135 for one night with no breakfast, was grossly overpriced, by aporox £70, given the appalling state of the room.
I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone, especially at its grossly inflated price and would only consider going back if the whole interior of every room was upgraded.
The interior made a Travelodge room look like a palace.
Bitterly disappointed to say the least!
