Apartment was very dated, stains on carpet, stains on the furniture. We had to wash everything in the kitchen before using as staff hadn’t checked after previous people left. There were very limited items in the kitchen seeing as it’s self catering. We needed to de-ice the freezer for anything to be able to go in it. Not impressed.

Lovely big room for 3 over in the Lodges, warm and comfortable, but no wi-fi unfortunately. The breakfast was good and the view is lovely. Ideal for walking to Newton Abbot along the path.

Steady hotel - friendly and helpful staff :)

The hotel is in the middle of a big renovation (hence not 5 stars) which meant we were in the South Lodge. The room was basic but fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Was disappointed the gym was shut as when i booked it through here it said it was there and had no mention of it closing. It looks like since then it was updated but I booked this hotel especially as it had such facilities. If this was updated later then it would have been good if i received an email or notification as such. Thanks.

The dessert in the restaurant was very expensive - £8 for 1 scoop of ice cream. Service on the Saturday evening was very slow.

No facilitys working I.E pool gym very disappointing was not told of this when booked they said they emailed me i asked to see this email, as i didint get one they couldint show me never saw the manager was misold this trip by Expedia who should of contacted me as well apart from that all good.

Room smelt of toilet mess. I have stayed here lots before and it was not the estuary smell. Sink was dirty, walls had lots of marks

Clean and beautiful!

This was our 3rd stay and the reception staff were as friendly & helpful as always. The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped for self catering. Our only disappointment was that we were not informed prior to our arrival with regard to the pool & fitness centre being closed for refurbishment.

Room ok but should be told when booking that we were in a lodge not the main part of the building and shower no use to anyone who can't climb into a bath to access the shower.

Breakfast was excellent with quality and quantity of food. A superb location but the premises could do with some external maintenance investment to smarten it up.

Comfortable beds and adjustable heating as weather became cold and damp. Very clean. I had anticipated a few toiletries so didn't bring shampoo or anything. Biscuit and decaf coffee not resupplied on second day . Staff helpful but scarce. Tea/coffee machine was not operating sometimes nor enough clean cups available. Nice fresh fruit salad at breakfast but smoked salmon very salty. Breakfast wasn't free but included in cost btw

1st room offered had toilet seat in broken unsafe condition Who cleaned room and therefore did not even wipe around the toilet seat ? A nice touch would have been a hotel courtesy car for station or racecourse on racedays
