Rating & Review Keseluruhan Hotel del Portal San Miguel de Allende

The hotel is right in the heart of San Miguel next to the cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel. But besides that the hotel is horrible. 1st there is no sing of the hotel name on the outside. It is label crisol not hotel del portal. 1500 pesos deposit if case you brake something. Room is super small. 5 power outlets total one didn’t work. Tv was not connected to cable or power. Hangers super tall if you are 6 feet tall they might work for you. I am 5’ 9” tall barely reached the hangers. Two bed room but tv wasn’t visible from the second bed. My windows were next to reception. So I was hable to hear everything till midnight and same thing after 7 am the next day. No wifi was provided to me at all. Bathroom was super small, when you sit on toilet your knees almost hit the wall. No space near sink to place toothbrush or lotion. Worst the bathroom door drag on the floor. So every time you need to use the bathroom at middle of night. I’ll wake up all my family member. Stay away from this hotel. Not worth it. Expedia says Junior suite. When you get there you get a standard room. Picture of property are not real at least talking about the Jr suite.

Al principio no fue nada agradable, me hicieron enojar, ya que yo había contratado mi hospedaje en el hotel portal San Miguel de Allende y los del hotel me llevar a otro hotel, el cual la habitación tenía olores a caño en el baño y a humedad ya atestaba mojada la alfombra. Yo me moleste mucho ya que no quería hospedarme ahí, me debatieron que no había habitaciones disponibles y más me enoje ya que yo había reservado con Expidia desde el el 3 de Manzo y mi reservación la tenía para el 12 de junio 2025, al ver mi molestia por fin se decidieron a checar y con tantos peros por fin me dieron la habitación que había contratado, en el hotel que yo había pagado. No tendría porque estar pasando tanto disgusto ya que contraté con meses de anticipación y liquidado desde marzo mi estancia. Nota: además hacen sentir a uno que le están haciendo un favor por darle a uno una habitación que según ellos es de mejor categoría y cuando te das cuenta es pura mentira es de menos calidad la habitación que me estaban dando). No se dejen impresionar exije tu derecho solamente.

Even if the property is in a noise area The property js very quite and confortable The staff is very helpful and gave me good recomendations.

Hotel is clean and staff is very helpful. Room has a roof top view but was not available due to construction. Be ready to walk with luggage in cobble stone streets for about two blocks since taxis are not allowed in the plaza area. Is very central and close to most amenities. Restaurant not available on site and most don’t open until after 10:00 am. Hotel is labeled with a small sign and was hard to find in the shopping center. First thing you see is a door entry with steep and uneven steps up to the second floor to the reception area. They kept our luggage until check in time (3:00 pm) . Room was not noisy from outside noises, even if it’s in front of the main plaza. We had to climb another set of stairs with luggage to our 3rd floor room. Room was clean as well as restroom but shower is slippery and does not have any bars to grab to should you slip. Hotel is still under construction so noise started around 8:00 am. There was dust from Sheetrock sanded and workers were working in stairwell and roof top. Electricity was interrupted twice during our 4 day stay. The first one lasted for about 30 to 40 minutes and the second one around 10 to 15 minutes. It was a good thing the room had a sky light because there was no emergency lighting available.

Por el precio supera las expectativas, justo en el centro, habitación súper limpia, aire acondicionado, pantalla grande, moderna y elegante, solo uno que otro detallito que deberian reparar, pero no afecta en nada la experiencia, muy recomendable.

First of all, the pics in hotels.com look NOTHING at all like the actual hotel. NOTHING like it. And there is no mention that the only entrance to the hotel requires walking up and down many steep steps. The room didn't have any soap or place to even put soap by the sink or shower. There were no hand towels. The bath towels looked like what my mother saved to use for rags. There was only 1 electrical outlet in the room (in the bathroom). Staff were nice and helpful and the room was clean and location was good, but this hotel was NOT what I expected, nor would I have chosen it had I known about the stairs.

The staff at the hotel was great! The hotel itself is not so great. The hotel was under construction so there’s materials laying around the lobby. The room we were first given had a gap between the door frame and the wall so you can see into the restroom. The outlets were not attached to the wall and there was some exposed wiring. It also had a window that opens into the lobby so very little privacy. The second room we were offered was not in the best condition either. The shower runs out of hot water quickly, and would also completely run out of water minutes into the shower. The water takes a bit to come back. The towels were old and torn. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. Also if you book, pay on the Expedia app. When I reserved it it gave me the option to pay at the property. Online it said about 300-400 USD but once I arrived it came out to a little over $500 USD. The location is nice but definitely not worth the price.

Al llegar me encuentro que tienen andamios en la recepción y material de construcción, la ventana no tiene cortina y entra luz de otros cuartos y se escucha mucho ruido tanto de afuera como de adentro.

I liked that is was right at the center! We were a 2 min walk from the cathedral, restaurants and shopping.

Excellent location. Walking distance of everything. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. However, we were not aware that the hotel is currently under construction. Although we did not spend most of the day at the hotel, it was an inconvenience to go in and out while the workers were busy.

nos toco remodelación, solo no te avisan con anticipación que debes dejar tu auto calles antes y no te ayudan con maletas, pero todo bien gracias

Parking options available but be prepared to walk a block to hotel. Steep stairs, would not recommend for elderly or lots of luggage. Staff great. Undergoing some renos which is nice to see. great roof top patio over square.
