Good location, in the center of downtown area. shower to small. No elevator, if bring many luggage have a problem.

Hotel Rio is in an excellent location. While there, I would say the service was average. But, the staff did something so exceptional regarding a problem I had, that I am giving them an excellent rating. I left my expensive iPad in the room after we left for Trieste. I called and said I’d be in Trieste for 5 days and asked if they could ship it to my hotel there. The Rio staff was extremely responsive and I received it via DHL 3days later, completely intact. Packaged incredibly well.Shipping charge only $30. You really want a hotel that will be helpful when you have a problem, and they really came through for me in an outstanding way. I’m so appreciative and impressed.

Accommodations were nice and the location was great! Near St. Marks, the waterfront and great eating everywhere.

It is a decent hotel. Clean rooms and very nice staff. The breakfast was good too. It is a small hotel in a very nice area. Very close to St. Mark square.

Very clean and convenient property for solo traveller exploring Venice. Central location, easy to get to by ferry from Venezia S. Lucia train station (30 minute walk is a bit tricky due to nature of Venice streets/bridges, but manageable if no accessibility concerns). Amazing bakery (‘Venice Bakery’) nearby, had best panini and pastry I’ve tried in Italy so far.

Fabulous location. It was a little warm, the AC was light. No elevator. Staff was WONDERFUL. Very clean but small but we were fine with that. Breakfast comes with room. Great restaurants and shopping right outside the door

The hotel is great overall, but the area is not good full of visual trash, Venice is not well maintained and too many pick pockets around. very and truly unfortunate!!

As I travel to many different places I use hotels.com as the hotels are usually what you expect to find at Hotels.com. Hotel Rio is my worst experience ever I think. As it is normally hot in Italy in August I chose a hotel with AC. We we arrived it was very hot in the room and the control on the wall was blinking help!! I told the reception and they said it has nothing to do with the aurcon.AC is centrally controlled and this error was something else. A pure lie I found out later. Of course it was impossible to get any sleep in a 35 degrees room. I had paid for 2 nights but had to find a hotel wuth a working ac. Did I get a refund for prepaid night. Forget it. This hotel should be taken out if hotel.com assp. Please choose something else. I am a Gold member in Hotels.com.

Not luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. There is no elevator, so be aware if you are travelling with folks with mobility issues that they will have to use the stairs unless you get a a first floor room

I loved the location of this hotel. It was very easy to get to via the Vaporetto and Google Maps. Many food choices within minutes, close to canals, and just a few minutes from the square. My room was clean, the air conditioning worked, and there was a mini refrigerator. I had a single room but after a long time of traveling throughout Europe, it was nice to have my own bathroom/shower with a hairdryer! I would stay again.

We had a great stay at Hotel Rio! This place was maybe even better than the photos. The AC worked perfectly in very hot weather which was super important to us (in the heat of July). Staff was helpful and friendly. Easy to keep bags in storage early or late. Would recommend!

The staff was amazing! They had a lot of patience with my friend and me. Took time to write back and forth. Took time to find resources for us. The bed was hard. The room was very warm (As an American, I guess I am not used to this warm room). Other than this, overall, it was wonderful.

Staff are extremely supportive and friendly. We had a lovely stay.
