Brunch was a good selection staff friendly bar staff need to know more about not serving intoxicated guests more alcohol The receptionist was with out doubt helpful polite understanding and thought nothing of going the extra mile to help

Room was okay but i didn't like that my double bed was just two single beds joined together. I wasn't expecting that in a hotel with the word 'grand' in the title.

Plenty of parking, lovely staff, clean room, well equipped.

It’s a neat Victorian Era hotel. Beautiful views of the ocean. Gorgeous property. The waiter at dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Food was good. The hotel needs some $ put into it, but, it’s still a grand place to spend a few days.

Nice location, very helpful staff, great food, quiet isolated location. Ideal place to escape from city life.

Really charming hotel, great pleasure to stay there and imagine how grand it must have been in it's heyday. Incredible charming surroundings and views. However, not terribly clean, some issues owing to age of property but a lot was evidence of a lack of fastidiousness with cleaning e.g. dirty cups in room, unemptied kettle with old water in it, stagnant smell in the room. Staff were helpful and kind. Would stay again, perhaps in a nicer room.

This is a lovely old Victorian hotel, which you can see was once grand, but is now a little tired and in need of repair. Excellent location- views from the dining room over the bay are beautiful. Staff are polite and helpful. Room was clean on arrival, but daily housekeeping was limited to the basics. Lots of supplies such as sachets of tea/coffee/milk available at reception as self service (to top up what is in the room) is a good idea. I think this hotel is good value for money, but needs investment to truly reflect it's name as a "grand" hotel.

Fabulous stay this the second time love it and easy to get around and dogs allowed

I believe dinning room table signs marked “Set for Dinner” would help people from eating Breakfast at a Dinner table. When I want to eat I don’t look at how much silverware is on the table. I still don’t know what the silverware at the 12 o’clock position is for! I was on the 3rd floor. It sounded like construction work was be done above me on the 4th floor.

Property is lovely but very dated and needs an overhaul. Staff were great mind.

Hotel ambience and location was great but service was very average. When we went out the room wasn’t cleaned. Breakfast was average with no custom made eggs option.

The hotel is large. The room was adequate, not particularly comfy bed from my point of view. Breakfast was very good. The evening meal was a bit disappointing but edible. The service was good. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful

Only booked room as breakfast was quite expensive - we only eat a light breakfast Bar menu was good

Property was alittle dated. But clean bedroom and bathroom staff were helpful and friendly

Overall the hotel is lovely but a bit tired in places . Staff were great and food was lovely but my biggest bug bear was the carpet in our bedroom hadn't been hoovered there were other peoples toe nails on it so didnt make me feel comfortable taking my socks off.

The room we had booked, "twin superior with walk in shower because I'm disabled "was not available, however, the receptionist did manage to find us a room with a walk in shower even if it was the honeymoon suite. It would have been much cheaper if we had booked direct with the hotel and not through Expedia
