Had a club room that consisted of one clothes rail with three hangers, two clothes hooks, all that are open and not enclosed. An iron on the floor, a whole in the wall and a tv remote control that didn’t work. Oh and the air con is so poor that I had to request a fan. Terrible value for money

I had a really poor experience at this hotel. I paid for parking during my stay, but still ended up with a parking fine. It took five phone calls and multiple emails just to get the hotel to confirm that I had paid.The staff admitted they are having major issues with their third-party parking operator wrongly fining guests (which isn't mentioned when you book). Despite knowing about the glitch, they told me I have to appeal it myself. Because I was in a hire car, this is costing me a massive amount of extra time, energy, and stress. If the hotel knows their contractor is broken, they should be resolving it for their guests.Aside from the parking nightmare, the hotel itself is in desperate need of an uplift. It felt shabby, grubby, and the reception desk was completely empty when I arrived. Staff were hard to find the entire time.I will never stay at a Village Hotel again after this.

I have just good words about this hotel. The lady at the check-in was very service minded, quick and wonderful. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

The room was great, didn’t use any facilities on this occasion but would return.

The staff lovely, HOWEVER the rooms have been upgraded/updated but are minimalist. There is nowhere to put your suitcase but on the floor, there is a bar sticking out of the wall to hang your clothes with only 4 hangers, the iron is stored/placed on the floor in the corner. There are only 2 small drawers (one has the hairdryer in it taking up most of the space) in the unit below the tv. The bathroom updated to a walk in shower is nice. Very clean. The painted doors and certain walls are very bold (mine was a deep blue) others are bright orange or lime. Watch out you don’t fall out of bed when turning off the lights as they are very spaced apart, unlike my daughter!

Brilliant stay! The club upgrade was excellent but the thing that sets this place apart is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble - everyone was very welcoming! Thank you - we will definitely use a Village hotel again

The Staff were so friendly and helpful Rooms clean and comfortable. Even a Dyson fan in the room to stay cool Pool a bit busy for me but it was nice to see children enjoying it I chose the wrong time to use it As a single female traveller felt welcome and secure Definitely visit again

Vädligt varmt och litet rum utan air conditioning och anskrämlig utsikt. Frukostbuffén var sådär. Trevligt med pool och jacuzzi, men poolen hade en simskola för småbarn. Plus för ett riktigt bra gym och baren/restaurangen där vi kunde titta på The Open och fotbolls-VM.

Half hall not finished other side inside floor without carpet. I had good sleep well.. but I couldn't reach close the window long bay shelf.. lol. Red sofa but bit low.. lol. Disabled shower room is bit old floor & flood toward front door inside bathroom.. toilet seat bit close sink but it ok..other handles hold are brilliant.. lol thanks for stay hotel.

Some of the rooms are being renovated,so some of the corridors are being worked on,service was good

I didn’t look properly when I was making a booking that this four star hotel has no air-conditioning. I would have never stayed there as the heatwave was unbearable. My daughter, who lives in Port Sunlight suggested that I would be more comfortable in the hotel with air-conditioning. How wrong we both were! The check-in was very smooth. When I arrived in the room I discovered that I had only one tiny fan and the second one that was not working at all. I had no glass or bottled water. The duvet on the bed was very heavy and winter warmth( in the heatwave). I could not sleep as it was so hot! Plus the blackout blind sticks out and makes noise when the window is open. The room is not dark and allows street light in, so no decent sleep. It is not very Next morning I raised the issue with no bottled water and no glass at the reception and they told me that you don’t get a bottled water in the standard room (in four start hotel!!!). They said that I will get a glass and they will see what they can do about the duvet, if not I could just get a sheet. As for fans they said that you only get one fan per room. However, i never got a glass for water or to put water in the kettle or nobody has done anything about winter weight duvet. At £125 a night I could have stayed in nearby Travellodge for half price. I didn’t haven breakfast there as I only have plain yoghurt with fresh berries and some seeds for breakfast so it would not make sense for me to pay for the breakfast.

First time staying at this hotel, on entry the staff were very welcoming, facilities were more than expected. Good food, amazing sleep as our bed was very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for the weekend.

The staff at check in and throughout our stay we're really friendly and helpful, we felt at ease straight away The room was a good size, recently refurbished and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, both hot and cold options, and the dining area was well spaced out. Would definitely return to this hotel if we were in the area again 😊

We were unable to sleep in the room due to the fact it was too hot and had no air con, so we had to leave. If a hotel does not have air con it needs to be made clearer when making the booking, especially y in the summer time.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and it was convenient having a Starbucks and bar/restaurant on site. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by the lack of air conditioning during the heatwave. We were on the top floor, so the room became incredibly hot and stuffy, making it very difficult to sleep. Although there was a fan provided, it barely worked so made no difference. The windows only opened slightly due to the safety restrictors, which is understandable, but it meant there was virtually no airflow or breeze. Overall, it was a pleasant hotel in many ways, but I wouldn’t stay here again during the warmer months unless air conditioning was available.

The reception team were very helpful, friendly and welcoming!!! Tracy in the Bar and Grill was fantastic! Her enthusiasm and energy really made our evening special!!

Paying the extra for a club room is worth it as the use of the pool and gym add a nice touch and the jacuzzi and steam room are a great way to chillax before the journey home
