We stayed at New Forest Lodge for a weekend trip to Paultons Park. Overall I'd say our trip was okay. There were definite areas of improvement and I wouldn't suggest booking if you're looking for luxury. That being said, the room was mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed. When you arrive, if you're situated in a room upstairs, I could see the carpet was very worn. It wasn't the best impression. The decor is quite dated and the TV is pretty small. The king bed was comfortable. The singles however were put up beds and were uneven and not terribly comfortable. There was carpet worn away at the bathroom threshold to the point the grippers were exposed which presents a hazard, expecially for young children. The radiator in the bathroom was also damaged and didnt look overly reassuring of its safety. The check in was using a keysafe as the reception wasnt manned. I did see some staff briefly both mornings of our stay. Its a shame they dont have more of a presence. The lodge met our needs for the purpose we booked it for, I just feel it would be much improved with some investment into refurbishment.

The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful and always happy to have a chat when we were coming and going. Plenty of parking, room is a bit outdated if I was being ultra-critical but for the value of our stay it was a great value for money. The room was clean and had everything you needed. I would definitely stay here again

Really nice place to stay, quiet with plenty of parking space, Rachel who looks after the Lodge, was totally helpful and informative along with very friendly totally enjoyed ourselves with the area and stay,thank you!

Room had a great view. Ideal location to nip in to the new forest but also wasy to get too. Nice indian restaurant next door, but even better pub round the corner in nomansland called the lamb. Hostess was great and full of helpful ideas on where to go.

Easy to find, easy to park and always a warm friendly welcome. Room has everything I need, having a fridge is particularly good. No disturbance from busy main road, Indian restaurant next door is excellent. I stay here every 6-8 weeks for work, always relaxing.

Great location, clean, excellent value for money and lovely staff.

The room was fine, just basic requirements met I think the bed line was clean enough although one of the beds I didn’t use had a bit of a stain on the cover and the mirror was in a poor condition in the bathroom but everything was perfectly acceptable for stop off a journey. I didn’t meet any staff, but they did give me a call to ensure I knew the key codes.

Check in process out of reception hours very straightforward and easy to follow. Unfortunately the First room we had been allocated had no electric at all after we tried to get the kettle to boil everything blew. Kettle was also full of limescale. Took quite a while to contact anyone as no reception staff on site but once contacted we were moved to an alternative room instead. Room itself was ok, basic but adequate. However does need a bit of updating and mattress very uncomfortable (neither of us slept very well and woke up with bad backs). Was an ideal location for a stopover however and had all the necessary amenities but due to lack of sleep we wouldn't personally choose to stay again.

The rooms were spotless, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the pub behind the lodge. (The Indian restaurant staff was very friendly as well, but it was Valentine's Day and we had not made a reservation, so we went to the pub.) We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there! Then we returned to the lodge for a good night's sleep. We were warm and comfortable.

A good option for a stay in the area. Very quiet location.

Self check-in went smoothly. The non-smoking room unfortunately stank of smoke, and the bath plug was full of someone's long hair. The bed was really comfortable, and the towels & linen were great. The Indian restaurant next door does really good food. Sadly the family next door woke at full volume at 07:30 Sunday morning. A good stop-off option when travelling, but not a refined or relaxing stay.

If you’re looking for a lovely spot in the heart of the New Forest, this is definitely one to try. Although it’s located on the A36, once you’re inside the property the road noise disappears completely. We stayed in the Nomansland Suite, which was perfect for our four-day stay. It included a comfortable double bed, bathroom, fridge, and kettle, and the room was cleaned daily. The host who greeted us was very friendly and suggested lots of great things to do nearby, which was really helpful. There’s plenty to do in the area, whether it’s a walk to the local pub or a short trip to the beach. The views are beautiful and really add to the experience. Highly recommend this place for a short getaway.
