We booked the balcony room 28 but it was out of use. We were offered alternatives and settled for 25. It was a large room but furniture decor needed updating. But it was clean. Twin bed nearest bathroom creaky when getting in /out. Only 10.5 stone. Staff were helpful when told 28 was out of use and offered free drink at bar and free breakfast. Breakfast was very basic as only hot choice was 1 small roll (no butter) with choice of bacon sausage egg. Struggled to eat my dry sausage roll.

The staff are great and the position of the hotel was excellent We did eat lunch which was very good and large We also had breakfast which although was not full English was a continental with a breakfast roll We had sausage & egg bap and this was more than enough It was very warm but we had a fan which helped It is an old building and this has to be taken into account as it is listed and there are things you just cannot do Would recommend the hotel it wax very good value for money

Great value stay in pub hotel. Quiet and air conditioned. Nice staff. Simple but great value bereakfast. Centre of town. Nice bar.

This is a dog friendly Hotel in the centre of Spalding town centre. Popular with locals as well as travellers. The staff are all friendly, helpful and accommodating. I ate at the Hotel a couple of times, both meals were excellent. My room was lovely, I knocked down one star as the picture on the 'live' tv flickered so much it was hard to watch. None of the other Apps available would download either. But as I didn't watch much tv it wasn't a problem for me. There is a car park close by, costing £3.10 for 24 hrs using the Ring Go App, which I found to be safe and secure for the 3 nights I stayed at the Hotel. There is another App which brings the cost down a bit. Just search Drapers Place car park for full details or ask the Reception staff. I will be staying here again.

Staff most helpful, courteous and friendly. Pity there is no hotel parking but it is slap in the centre of town and there are car parks conveniently close by.

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Spalding. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and full of character, and the location right in the town centre was perfect. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. The breakfast was very nice, and there is a lovely pub atmosphere downstairs. Great value for money and a genuinely warm, family-run feel. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Spalding.

Welcoming greeting when we arrived, checied in smoothly and fazy Room absolutely lovely, bed nice and comfy, bathroom very well appointed with complementary shampoo etc. Hotel is smack bang in the middle of town and is easy to get to When we go to Spalding which will be soon we will book again without hessitation. Thank you!

Worst sleep ever. Rock hard beds and pillows, the room we stayed in was on the second floor (4 flights of stairs, no lift) and the room was on a slant, the whole place seemed uneven. The worst part though was the other clientele - loud, noisy and banging until well into the early hours, we didn’t get to sleep until 3am after trying and failing to contact the emergency phone line which told us to leave a message and they would respond within 24 hrs - good job it wasn’t an emergency like being locked out! Eventually we had to knock on the door of the person making all the noise and ask them to be quiet, not something you should have to do but the only way we could get some peace. Would avoid this place like the plague.

Hotel is very central, clean and staff are very friendly. No parking but there is well priced local parking nearby. Hotel is pet friendly but you have to eat in the bar if you have a dog (which was not a problem at all).

Room was clean but noise from neighbouring rooms could heard late at night.

I love staying here, it’s my go to place. I was a little disappointed this time, stayed in room 22 on second floor. Room was clean, but the window was not able to stay open, so it was unbearably hot in the room, and just got hotter at night. It could do with at least two more plug sockets, as two were taken up by the fans we had to plug in and have on continuously. The bed was a little firm for our preference, but others may prefer that. Staff were lovely and helpful as usual. I will be returning but maybe ask not to have that room again. And I’d like to try the breakfast next time too… always smells amazing.

Stayed in room 3, it was a beautiful large double room with en suite. Very clean and well maintained. Huge tv on the wall. Bed was comfortable. Very happy with my stay again and will return.

Always a great stay at the Red Lion, I had an issue with my Expedia booking and the staff were excellent in helping me sort the issue out. Was so able to get an early checkin. Great location, lots to do and the rooms were lovely.

The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom was clean but had a smell of urine. The shower was difficult to get a good temperature, so it was an extremely hot wash. I was in room 6, the radiator kept going crazy, in the sense it was loud, like the motor was malfunctioning. But due to the company I had, I was extremely happy and would go back again. Overall happy.

Checked in easily on Saturday afternoon. And had a drink in the bar with our dogs. Rooms comfortable, but very warm - equipped with fans. Breakfast very basic (£5) but sufficient for me. Very friendly, attentive staff. Great place - allowing dogs to stay for free. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is getting better every time we stay as the refurbishment covers more and more of their rooms
