A little dated but cosy and did the job. Check re accessibility as we had a room on the 2nd floor and my wife uses a walker so that was a challenge.

Booked for two night but only stayed one as fold out bed extremely uncomfortable. Air conditioner only worked for cold so we were freezing. Carpet smelt terrible. Room not as advertised on website. Very disappointing. Staff were friendly.

Easy stroll to the MCG

We were notified after booking (7th June) that they didn’t staff reception after 5pm, and would send us late check in details before the day of arrival (12 July). We received no information. We tried calling and messaging several times, with no response. We’ve had to find alternative accommodation. There was no information for the 5 days prior to arrival to tell us how to check in, or tell us they couldn’t accept our late check in. This is useless. I expect a full refund as they were not able to provide us a way to access our booked room. No follow through.

Excellent, I am usually a 5 star girl but Mum was in hospital nearby and this fit the bill perfectly.

perfect location to walk into the city or to the MCG

We were in a walk distance from the Rod Laver Arena. The room and beddings were spotless clean. We had everything we needed. Thank you! Leask family

I didn't realize that a pet friendly place could smell so much. Also, the stains on the floor & furniture were disgusting. The bathroom was also unclean. Worst place I have ever stayed. Never again!

Stayed there for the Australian Open, 20-25min walk. Close to train stations, supermarkets, 1-2 cafes for breakfast. The room was nice and airy, sofa bed was decent. Plenty of space. Could do with more clothing drawers esp if 2 or more are staying. The only drawback was the windows weren’t soundproof so woken up early every morning by traffic, garbage truck's, sirens etc If staying here for the tennis/cricket it’s an easy walk but if night sessions finish quite late u don’t won’t to walk back on ur own. It felt safe but very quiet and empty streets. If u have trouble with stairs ask for ground level too.

Easy going and light filled apartment. Very good location and CBD is an easy walk. Clean place and easy check-in.

We enjoy staying at the Birches for its location, off street parking and customer service.

The room felt dirty. The carpets were stained with burns next to the bed. Walls in need of painting and the windows did not shut properly in the main area or the bathroom. The sofa bed for the third adult was really bad and was only made slightly better with the mattress topper provided. Not any good for a decent sleep. Checked out early and wouldn’t book again. Misleading images online. Room needs attention.

The stay was nice. Our fridge was set too cold and all of our food that we had in there got frozen and was no good to eat. It had to be thrown out. That was very disappointing. I don’t like wasting food but I didn't really have a choice as the food was no longer edible. Some sort of reimbursement would’ve been nice but nothing was offered to us. Other than that I had no complaints.

Clean and tidy apartment with everything that you need to a good stay. Close to shops, restaurants and public transport (tram, bus and train). And just 35 minutes walk in to the city this place is perfect. Close enough to the city but far enough out to be quiet.

The place seemed run down. The rooms were okay but not pleasant. The shower dripped. The windows would not completely close. The TV would not show any of the HD DTV channels (more than half of them) and there wasn't any pay tv channels as advertised. The sofa bed was terrible to sleep on. Fortunately, we were only there for one night and it was convenient to our activities but wouldn't stay there again. Not sure how they can command such a price for that standard.
