Nice property but needs a lot of maintenance now

Breakfast and dinner offers are very good. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Basic room which suited my needs and importantly was clean.

Lette etter et overnattingssted i Hartlepool. Dette så sjarmerende ut. Det var helt greit, men det lå jo langt utenfor Hartlepool.

From stepping in to reception area we received a warm welcome both by staff and an engaging fire set within a characteristic fireplace. It’s an aged hotel/Manor House with lots of charm, wood panelling, beautiful staircase. Cleanliness was superb along with the standard of food. We enjoyed a perfect stay!

Lovely staff, great breakfast and fabulous food at dinner, cooked to perfection. Room 15 was a little cold - darent leave the portable heater on all night! Lovely country manor - would return.

It is a lovely place and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was well cooked and a good variety. It is an old property with the charm of an old building. Good value

As a single female working away from home I felt most looked after and safe. I also had the best sleeps ever, all warm and toastie. They have a calvery through the week which was great.

Property smelt a little musty. Not enough sockets in room. Too many stairs. Definitely no good for an elderly person

Hotel was very clean although a little dated. All the staff are very friendly, Food was really nice, not a huge choice for evening meals but there was still enough choice for us. We originally came for afternoon tea and decided to stay the night. We stayed in the 4 poster bed room. It was very spacious & clean although the bed wasn't very comfortable

My room was clean and warm. staff are always friendly professional and helpful Food is of a high standard and plentiful

Very pleasantly surprised with this Hotel. Staff were truly lovely. Bedroom was a good size. Interior of the hotel was lovely. The food was good with a great breakfast. I really enjoyed a very pleasant stay for 2 nights.

Fantastic hotel fa tastic service.

I booked the hotel for my honeymoon when booking I sent the hotel an email explaining it was my honeymoon and what time could I check in and few other questions about the place . My email was ignored . Upon arrival I checked in went to room and I was shocked as such a beautiful old building has not been well maintained. Paintwork is shabby the shower on off valve fell off also the soap dispenser fell of the wall while I was showering hitting my foot . Went to leave the room and the lock was broke . They did come straight out and fix it but still not great looked like it has been fixed that many times it’s had it . Apart from that the drinks we had were nice great range breakfast in the morning was great full English coffee and toast fresh juice just what was needed

The ceiling in the room was mouldy and sagging as if had water behind it. Skirting board under the window was rotten and hanging off. This room would not have been out of place in the 60’s and Faulty Towers. Staff didn’t really seem to care when I asked for my money back. I was looking forward to staying here after a 6 hour drive, this is a place I would never consider or recommend to anyone. Super dated and not worth the money.

Quaint old building, beautiful woodwork. The different floor levels, including in our room, could be a trip/fall hazard for older people. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.

Great hotel set in lovely lawned grounds. Helpful and friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble and they are very chatty, they clearly enjoy talking about their local area
