The Elkwater Lake Lodge is in a great location and generally speaking, a very nice place to stay. In fact, this was our second stay at the Lodge. However, there does seems to be some wear and tear on the property where upgrades are required. Concrete steps are crumbling away, fenced areas needs paint, the pool is out of use right now, as is the restaurant. The sink in our room was backed up and the toilet didn't flush very well, concerns we raised at the front desk when we left. In fairness, it's still early in the year and perhaps these items will be addressed in the coming weeks. Overall, though, a nice place that we would most likely choose again.

The lodge is enjoyable to stay at.

Half the light bulbs were burnt out . Snow wasn’t shovellled off deck . Phone didn’t work . Chairs were very uncomfortable in room . Big equipment was parked sideways in the parking stalls so couldn’t park in stall in front of room . . Hallway was so hot you could hardly stand it . Restaurant closed . Tv terrible , hard to figure out and hardly any channels . Staff not very helpful . Pop machine empty and snack machine almost empty . Bed was fairly comfortable and heat worked good but won’t be staying there if improvements aren’t made .

We got downgraded to a room without explanation but were still charged for a traditional condo. No apologies or appropriate solution was offered. No reply to an email we sent. Nothing.

Flooring quite dirty, pool area in need of much need maintenance

The bed was small and soft but overall not too bad.

It is a beautiful area and the lodge is in a gorgeous setting. It is showing its age though and little things are not being attended to. The fellow at the front desk was not friendlty or welcomi g. The fan in our room didnt work - no AC - and we were hot and uncomfortable the whole night. A few repairs and some friendliness would go a long way here!!

The management went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. They were friendly and accommodating. Clean facilities and comfortable.

Beautiful but very dated lodge. Kind front desk staff, very accommodating and professional. We are a family with two young kids and hotel had a pack and play in room waiting for us. Indoor pool and hot tub were great for rainy days. Hot tub was too hot though and pool too cold. Temp didn’t work at all our entire stay but we made do. They also have board games to rent and bikes! Kitchenette in room was very lacking - no pots, bowls, mugs, cutting knives, or cups. Bring with you if you plan to cook\BBQ a ton. Overall a nice stay!

So we had booked this place earlier in the year and at the time on Expedia we could only obtain one room for 2 nights and then would have to switch to another room for our final night. The price was reasonable and we were prepared to move. When we arrived at the property the front desk staff immediately made sure that we would not have to switch rooms. We didn't even have to ask. Then we got to our room and found it was a huge suite with a full kitchen, living room, two full bathrooms and a loft with a large king bed. Wow. Perfect location for our family reunion which was being held at a YMCA camp close by and easy to get to when we needed a bread from the reunion of 100+ people including many children. The staff were very accommodating and even though we didn't need the kitchen as the reunion had planned all the meals the huge room was very restful for a couple in their late 70's

Check in with the front staff person was more interested in getting back to his phone call, than answering any questions. We had supper at Buglers ordered Cheese Burger the burger tasted like it had been precooked earlier in the day and reheated. It was tough, dry and did not taste fresh.

The man at the front desk was so nice , he deserves a big raise , he treated me like a queen, I will stay again

Thought the area would have more choices for places to eat .

I liked almost everything. The internet was very slow and the towels didn’t smell freshly washed. The rest area and cleanliness was amazing. This is the reason I gave 4 stars.

Nice community. I get the sense this place is not being kept up. Service was minimal through our stay and the workers didn't seem to know what they were supposed to do. It was disappointing that the staff are not trained and the place is not being maintained as you can see it had been a nice property.

Location is great, poor ventilation keeps the hot air and chlorine smell in the hall ways.

The property was very well used and out dated for the price of the room there wasn’t even a facecloth to wash your face sorry always wanted to spend a weekend there but was very disappointed and other guests I was speaking with also felt the same.Dont know for certain but must be owned by a corporate operation and not really looking after it

Clean room but overpriced, kitchenette but no utensils, stairwell railings loose, no water view rooms. This hotel is not on the water
