Loved it , can't wait to go back

We stayed at the Peak Hotel for 3 nights & unfortunately did not have a positive experience. While the property is exactly as advertised—a charming historic building with a pub downstairs—it feels more like a pub with a few guest rooms than a traditional hotel. After check-in, there was very little interaction or hospitality from staff. Our biggest issue was Room #1, which is located directly beside the pub’s outdoor patio. The room faces the patio, so there is virtually no privacy unless the curtains remain closed at all times. It is also extremely noisy. During our stay there was a heat wave, and the room became unbearably hot. With no air conditioning & only a high ceiling fan that provided little airflow, we had to keep the window open, which made the noise even worse. When I asked about a floor or table fan, I was told they didn’t have one. The pub regularly hosts live music until very late, and the patio remained busy and loud every night of our stay. On one evening, a fight and shouting match outside our room continued until after 1 a.m. When I raised concerns about the noise, I was told that because I was staying at a pub, there was nothing they could do. We came to the peaks to walk the fells, staring early each morning, but every day we were exhausted from having little to no sleep. If you’re looking for a quiet hotel stay, I would strongly recommend avoiding Room #1. Perhaps the hotel could put a disclaimer on this room so people know what they're in for.

Really friendly staff, great location and nice clean room

Very good location. Very friendly staff. We had food in the restaurant and it was very yummy and very big portions which was good. The room was clean and there was plenty of amenities in the room. The only bad thing for us was that there was a live band on till very late (well after 10:30pm) we couldn’t get to sleep after a long day of hiking. The bar doesn’t stop serving until 12 we were informed and that apparently they do a lock in for the locals. We left the hotel as we couldn’t sleep with the music being so loud.

The staff were really good. Food was great in the pub/restaurant. Location superb.

Stunning location but Very Small old TV in the room, sadly no hot water at 6pm one evening… a hot bath intended after a long hike…sadly din’t happen. Good food, good beer and friendly staff. Close to road so some road noise on a night and early morning.

Excellent location

One night stay. Great location in the village near bus station and shops. Friendly welcoming pub. Food was excellent. Room was clean and spacious. Will stay again.

There was no breakfast available but there are plenty of options for breakfast within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite was roomy. There was no internet access in our bedroom. Parking is allocated to your bedroom number and is available from book in until about 1.30pm to 2pm on the booking out day. This was ideal for us as we were able to get a last hike in before leaving.

Room 2 had a pump noise on and off all night so we didn’t sleep well. Food- Burger great, Jerk Chicken dried out and overcooked. Beers good.

We stayed for 1 night whilst visiting the area. Good location for the Hope Valley, ManTor, Etc. dog Friendly, staff pleasant and very helpful and free parking. Although the building is quaintly old its also fairly run down, Its desperately due a make over. (carpets, paintwork etc.) Room is clean, basic, Tea n Coffee provided. It was 20 Degrees during the day when we visited, It has no air conditioning and even with the windows open it was just about cool enough during the night. Big fan on the ceiling is not a decoration, but you cant run them through the nigh, any warmer and it wouldn't be comfortable. Bathroom is basic with soap dispenser on the wall. But one real issue is the floor in the bathroom, it is treacherous ! when wet and that's unavoidable when you get out the shower, be warned ! There are no Breakfast facility's on site, although there is availability within walking distance. Access from your room before the pub opens at 10am is via the fire escape at the back of the building, not ideal.

Typical climbers pub and accomodation. Stone floors fire and decent pub grub. Best pint ofGuinness for a long time. Rooms basic and dogs allowed. Wush we brought hours. Decor is quirky downstairs in pub and even worse in bedroom but the facilities are there. I did not mind it upstairs, lived it downstairs.

Food was excellent. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great place as a walking base. Have already recommended the Peak Hotel to family and friends.
