Best hotel of our Costa Rica trip yet. What a special place! The physical space is beautiful. The wildlife on the property and the gardens and general space were exceptional. Loved seeing toucans and monkeys right by our room. Loved walking to the ocean and river and town so easily. Wonderful boat tours of the national park with Steven. He blew us away with his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area. Great responsiveness to emails and any questions or concerns. Also wonderful night tour with Humberto!

Magnifique hôtel

Wir mussten einen Tag früher abreisen, weil meine Kollegin sich nicht wohlgefühlt hat....ich hab die Rezeption informiert und um Rückerstattung geben. Leider erfolglos. Das finde ich recht unfreundlich.

Hotel muito confortável localizado não muito longe nem muito perto do povoado de Tortuguero, o que faz a experiência de imersão melhor. Quartos bem típicos , espaçosos, com uma rede na varanda para ficar relaxando. Café da manhã e piscina muito bons, um ranario legal. Água potável disponível em dois lugares

El hotel es precioso, las habitaciones (la estándar en nuestro caso) sencillas y algo pequeñas para una familia de 4 miembros pero muy bonitas. El entorno y las zonas comunes muy bonitas. La piscina una maravilla y resulta muy cómodo para visitar el pueblo de Tortuguero a pie sin necesidad de contratar un desplazamiento. Además puedes ver muchos animales sin salir del hotel. El único aspecto a mejorar es el tema de la comida. Solo probamos el almuerzo informal en el bar de la piscina y nos quitó las ganas de probar más. Pedimos unos perritos por 9$ cada uno y era minúsculo, media palma de la mano acompañado de 4 patatas tipo chips de bolsa. Hay mejores alternativas para comer en el pueblo caminando por la playa a 10 minutos.

Es un sitio espectacular. El único inconveniente fue que el último día no había agua caliente.

Excellent stay at Mawamba lodge. Gardens around the ground are great and we saw sloths and Toucans a short walk from our room. Breakfast was great as was the dinner we had at the restaurant. Pool can get quite busy with families and children. Town is only a short walk away or they can provide a river taxi. Also took part in the tours arranged by the hotel which was fantastic with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Would highly recommend it visiting Tortuguero

Bon emplacement à 15 min à pied du village et du parc Confort moyen: pas d’eau chaude, pas de wifi dans les chambres et aucune insonorisation ( pas de fenêtre, juste des moustiquaires) Personnel pas des plus agréables Petit déjeuner moyen

Dépaysement total dans ce beau lodge..jardin magnifique..petit dejeuner correct et le dîner se passe un peu dans la pénombre ce qui donne une certaine atmosphère..piscine un peu fraîche mais vu la chaleur c'est agréable..personnel à l'écoute très sympathique ainsi que le manager !je recommande vivement

Het Hotel ligt tussen Caribische zee en het kanaal midden in de natuur een prachtige accomodatie die zich engageert voor natuur behoud ..vriendelijk personeel en locale bevolking een aanrader

Beautiful property. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the available excursions were well organized and fun. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t any hot water but that is not an unusual thing for the area.

The property is amazing, lots of biodiversity .they have many great tours in Tortuguero , highly recommended. A special mention to Diego, our guide,his work was incredible. Also to Chico, the tour driver, and Marlon, our other driver. They were all incredible. We'll be back!!!

Die Anreise per Boot ist schon ein Erlebnis und die schnelle Fahrt auf dem kurvigen Fluss macht einen Heidenspass. Wenn man das Boot verlässt ist man gleich bezaubert von der wunderschönen und top gepflegten Anlage. Ein kleiner Pool lädt zum Schwimmen ein. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber funktional. Eine Hängematte vor der Tür und die, die in der Anlage verteilt sind, laden zum Träumen ein. Highlight unseres Aufenthaltes war die frühmorgenliche Fahrt durch den Nationalpark mit dem Kanu, da man mit den kleinen Booten noch tiefer in den Dschungel vordringen kann. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, für die anderen Mahlzeiten sind wir lieber in den Ort gelaufen und abends mit Stirnlampen auf dem unbeleuchteten Weg zurück.

Beautiful property with basic but comfortable & clean accommodation. The beds were comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly. Lots of communal areas to chill in hammocks or chairs. Good varierty of food and drink options. Just a 15 minute walk to town.

If you love nature, this place is wonderful!

First, we had stayed at this hotel in, I believe, 2021and had a very good experience. We booked this visit based on that experience. Your site sent us information stating that basically there was an active COVID infestation and strict sanitary precautions were to be observed, which included intermittent temperature checks. This appeared to come from the hotel but as I found out came from Hotels .com. It took me two days to contact someone from the hotel because no one answered phonecalls or text messages. Finally I was able to contact the hotel via email after speaking with someone on your site. Turns out the information

Beautiful place in the nature and close to the sea. Hotel is great, very quiet, where you can find easily animals like sloth, bird, reptiles, et . Food can be better. But we enjoyed our stay and the tour early in the morning in the river.

Mawamba lodge was wonderful.
