The hotel is very authentic, charming, and has a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. One of the highlights of our trip was Kingston, which turned out to be a delightful surprise. It is a beautiful city with plenty of character, attractive architecture, and a relaxed atmosphere that made exploring it a real pleasure. The hotel itself is somewhat worn and could benefit from some refurbishment, but it more than makes up for this with its unique charm and personality. Rather than feeling modern and generic, it has a distinct character that adds to the overall experience. Breakfast is fairly simple and not particularly extensive, but it is perfectly adequate and provides a good start to the day. Parking is convenient and easy to access, especially during weekends and in the afternoons, which is a significant advantage for those traveling by car. Overall, we had a very positive experience and felt that the hotel offered good value and a memorable stay. However, while it is an excellent choice for a short visit or weekend getaway, it might not be the ideal option for a longer stay due to the hotel's somewhat dated condition and limited facilities.

We enjoy staying at the Hochelaga Inn. It is a well maintained haratage property, walking distance from the waterfront restaurants and attractions. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast is great!

The curtain, when closed, blocked the air conditioner. A blind or 1/2 curtain would have been nice since the lights outside were bright. The breakfast was healthy. There was an option to upgrade. I would definitely stay here again. A beautiful historic mansion in a great location.

Beautiful heritage property very close to downtown Kingston and the waterfront. Delicious breakfast, easy parking, and most of all, the staff here are incredible. They went out of their way to accommodate our specific travel needs and made our stay even more pleasant than it already would have been. Special thanks to the team at Hochelaga Inn!

The bed was very comfortable. The AC worked well. Parking was free and easy. We paid a bit extra for the upgraded breakfast and it was tasty. The staff were so nice.

The customer service from the staff was top-notch. With every interaction it is very clear that the staff care about the customer experience. They are helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They try very hard to meet the needs of the customers. For example, when we checked-in a staff member helped us with our bags as we were staying on the 3rd floor, and when I left my make-up bag behind they arranged for it to be mailed to me. Other highlights include the delicious breakfast that was included. The scones were warm and delicious! The house is charming with a wrap-around deck which is lovely for sitting to sip your morning coffee. The house is about a 10 minute walk to the waterfront so it is very conveniently located. The house is old and does not have air conditioning. We stayed in July during a heatwave. There was an air-conditioning unit in the room that vented out the window. It was very noise and disruptive to sleeping. Additionally, the bed was tiny. It was definitely not the queen size we expected. There is no fridge in the room. The bathroom is very tiny and there is no counter space to put your belongings. Parking is limited and you might have to park on the street if you do not get a space. Overall, excellent customer service, but the room needs some upgrades.

Clean room and common areas. Beautiful historic property. Spacious bedroom with great large smart TV and Wifi router, large bathroom with great walk in rain shower with wand. Only improvement would be quiter portable window air conditioner and more clear about limited free parking spots and minimal included breakfast. Please ensure milk, cream and coffee containers are regularly cleaned instead of constant reuse from fridge to refill, etc.

Handy location, room was cute, front porch area was lovely and shaded - perfect for a glass of the delicious complementary fruit water after a really hot day. Didn’t love the really loud air con machine - despite putting it in night mode. Very little left at breakfast when I went at 0915 and pastries would be better covered (even with a napkin) with all the flies around.

Forget historic character, this is the most ran down and poorly maintained property I've ever stayed at. It is also unacceptable that Expedia is showing 4 star rating on this. This really diminish Expedia's credibility. I can't believe I've paid $300 for this stay!
