Nice hotel that is near to both the railway station and the old city and really near to the river, which made it a pleasure walk within our stay.

In April I booked two rooms for one night. When I arrived in September one room is on the second floor while the second room is on the third floor. Having booked two rooms at the same time with the same credit card under the same last name for the same day one would expect to ideally have ajoining rooms. Falling that then side by side or maybe across the hall. At the very least on the same floor. In this case it was me and my brother and our wives. I would have been really upset if I had arrived with my teenage son and daughter. My daughter and wife would be expected to stay on one floor while my son and I on another floor many rooms away. I am not a satisfied customer.

Perfect location, our room had a view over the river and the city, parking in private hotel garage. Easy to find. Lots of restaurants and cafes around the river on both sides, Sainsbury's 2 min from the hotel. 10 min walk to the Shambles. Nice staff. The only bad thing is the very hard beds and an outdated bathroom with only one soap for hair and body combined. No aircondition. But big spacious rooms. The hotel also had a lift.

I always stay here whenever I visit York. Very conveniently located between the train station and the town centre.

The staff is quite helpful and friendly. Getting around the area is quite easy.

The only bad thing for this hotel is that the rooms were sweltering hot and only one poor fan per room. Even when it cooled down outside, the room didn’t.

A very comfortable stay less than 10 minutes walk to train station and five minutes into town centre. We stayed two nights and found the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was ample for our tastes. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Needed a brighter light in the bathroom for makeup. Comfortable bed nice big room.
