Lovely hotel! Highly recommend :)

The staff are the making of this hotel - excellent - only problem we encountered was ordering for evening meal as we sat at our table for 45 minutes before we were told that we had to order at the bar - would suggest a notation on the menu would resolve this. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

We recently stayed here and overall had a fantastic experience. The room was newly refurbished with modern furniture, a large TV, and all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The views over Lake Windermere were absolutely stunning and made the trip feel extra special. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with a particularly great breakfast offering plenty of choice and quality ingredients. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We also made good use of the spa facilities, which were excellent, very clean, and well maintained. There were a few downsides. Due to refurbishment works, guests had to walk through the restaurant in bathrobes to access the spa, which felt a little awkward. The fire alarm also went off at around 11:30pm, causing some disruption. We found the mattress quite firm and not particularly comfortable for our liking. Parking was also challenging, with limited spaces available considering the number of guests, and only one disabled parking space. Despite these issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning, especially for the beautiful location, excellent food, and superb spa facilities.

Excellent stay. Lovely view of the lake. Hotel has been modernised and is very welcoming. Stayed in a room with private hot tub - a real treat after a long walk!

Our room was at the top of the building up several flights of stairs. No lifts. We were assisted on arrival with luggage. The location was great and plenty of parking at the rear if no space at the front. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel.com website was misleading as it didn't mention that there was building work ongoing and the out door pool closed. The scaffolding and other buildings equipment/materials spoiled the otherwise beautiful views of the lake. The breakfast was very nice with a decent choice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However the floor tiles in the bathroom around the toilet were not fitted correctly big gaps very shabby. Once the building works are completed and the new infinity pool opens it would be worth the price we paid. Someone needs to finish the bathroom tiling it looks bad and can't be hygienic.

Stays there with my girlfriend for my first year anniversary, that staff were absolutely amazing super happy to help with anything we inquired, the room and bathroom were spotless and towels and robe were fresh, the breakfast was amazing and bar had loads of variety of drinks and cocktails

Really amazing stay. Just one downside was the lack of air conditioning. Then again it was 31 degrees outside. Will 100% stay again

We loved our stay at the hotel, the room was amazing and the views that came with the room were too. All the staff were really lovely but the lady in reception who dealt with us was especially helpful to us. The breakfast was really nice too. All in all a really nice night away and would recommend.

The location is the big selling point; views over the lake are exceptional. The menu has a good choice, but doesn't vary from day-to-day. That could become an issue for a longer stay, but if it looks good on the menu, it will be good when it's served. The location sold it, but the staff made the trip exceptional. They really made us feel like ensuring we enjoyed our stay was their personal mission. There is a fitness note; I'm admittedly out of shape, and retirement age, but I found the stairs to be almost too much at times. The climb from our suite to the bar/restaurant left me out of breath for a couple of minutes.

This hotel is in a refurbishment stage and work is on going but the hotel have worked hard to minimise the impact on residents. Work is evident around the new infinity pool and spa area and in some of the rooms as they work through the hotel. Part of the car park was clearly used by the builders but it did not have any impact our stay. The food was excellent and sitting out on the terrace enabled conversations with other guests with enviable views of the lake and even the spectacle of low flying military aircraft across the lake. Truly memorable and enjoyable. We tried the spa with indoor jacuzzis, steam room, sauna and pool with loungers. Robes, slippers and towels provided in your room due to part of the spa area being under construction. Again it was lovely. We found all staff to be very friendly and accommodating and we had a lovely time in an excellent location. Our room had been refurbished and had a lovely modern tiled shower room with heated towel rail, large tv, big bed and had all the extras like iron and ironing board, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, biscuits and mini chocolate mint cakes, fitted wardrobe, desk with chair, balcony with bistro table and chairs and lake views. Note our balcony was fully useable but not completely finished with the paint work on the railings needing a little refresh. Great If you can cope with a little disruption for great views and location or wait and it will be a fantastic hotel when finished and we certainly hope to return.

Nice stay

Asked for a ground floor room when i noticed no lifts as my wife has trouble with stairs now. Was given a beautiful ground floor room on same level as bar/restaurant. The room had a massive picture window with unbeatable view of lake. Same view from bar/restaurant which also has outside deck area. The pool area was great but had to tackle several flights of stairs. Breakfast good and had evening meals twice in the restaurant also good. Friendly/helpful staff.

The hotel is lovely. We arrived to find we had been upgraded from the snug to a double bedroom with a view which was lovely. But disappointed not to have a bath even after an upgrade though. There are a lot of stairs to get anywhere, which was fine but worth noting. There is access to the lake outside via a path and some stairs which is lovely. The spa was great but as they are doing some work on it the outside bit wasn't available. This was fine as we were alerted to this, but there were also no changing facilities which we were not made aware of until we arrived. This meant walking through the hotel in the very snug dressing gown and slippers they provided, which was not ideal. It also meant that you could not access the spa after checking out as there was nowhere.to change, which wss a shame. All the staff were brilliant and the restaurant/bar/lounge area was great. We were not overly impressed with the food though. I didn't want much for tea and fancied the goats cheese balls off the small bites menu, but they had run out. So I ordered fish goujons and was presented with a pile of fish fingers - not very gourmet and definitely over priced! At breakfast we were asked for our cooked order before we had sat down and it arrived before we had chance to make the toast. We both had poached eggs which were a little undercooked, which was a shame. The continental selection was good though. Overall, a nice stay and we would return but would probably not have our tea there.

The hotel was very clean and all the staff most helpful. Breakfast and other meals were well presented. Unfortunately the hotel is built on a steep slope and the frequency of stairs was a problem for us elderly persons, but we would use this hotel again. Thank you for a pleasant week

Room was lovely, junior suite 64. Reception staff were very helpful, with requests for a fridge,a more comfortable chair for my husband, and sorting out tv. Breakfast was really nice. It was a shame weather could have been better, but did not stop us from going places.
