We had an excellent stay at Kirishima Kokusai Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Kirishima area. We stayed in a Premier Deluxe Japanese-Western Style Room (Yukemuri View), which was exceptional and very spacious, with a beautiful outdoor lanai and a fantastic view out toward Sakurajima Island. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.
The public baths were a highlight of our stay. There were both indoor and outdoor options, along with a sauna, and even a unique section where you could apply a coating of mineral-rich mud to your skin. We also tried the massage services, which were incredibly relaxing and a great addition to the overall onsen experience.
The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park. We were able to get to Onami Pond early in the morning before it became crowded with hikers and tourists, which made the experience even more special.
The buffet breakfasts and dinners were delicious and offered a great variety of local cuisine, including Kagoshima pork and Miyazaki beef. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, and we looked forward to each meal.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our stay, and the free on-site self parking was a very convenient bonus.
Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of comfort, location, and authentic local experiences. We would definitely stay here again.
