We didn't eat in the hotel but our room was clean and comfortable bed

A really poor experience. 1. I reserved a twin room - upon arrival I was informed there weren't any twin rooms available. 2. Our room had mold in the bathroom and at 06:15 the person in the room next to us was on his phone and we could hear the whole conversation. Same issue when he used the toilet! 3. We changed rooms and our new room was like a furnace at 27.5 - 28 degrees day and night. The radiator in the hallway was on full blast. The receptionist firstly told us engineers were dealing with the problem. After two days of complaining a fan was put into the room. I asked why the radiator was on in the hallway in August, to this question I never received a reply! 4. Both rooms were not as clean as they should have been. Long hairs on the towels and floor. 5. The bed was solid, my wife & I slept terribly throught our stay, coupled with the heat in the room it was unbeatable. 6.Breakfast was plentiful but the quality of the supplied food was poor. We had to request bread other than pre frozen sliced bread. 6. The location is superb, but, the stay was ruined by the very poor service. We found ourselves pleased to have left.

We stayed at the hotel 1 August and there was a powercut at midnight. We were next to the stairs door which banged all night as the lift was out of order. No sleep, no water next morning as pump out of order due to no electric and no breakfast. Power cut not the hotel’s fault but no refund offered and no answer on phone since. Poor customer service.

Stayed at this hotel many times but this time there were issues. On arrival we were upgraded due to my husband‘s birthday which is very nice and everything was going well until we went to bed on the evening and the electric went out. It was still not on the next morning. Due to this, we had no running water so we had no toilet facilities or shower which is really unacceptable for a hotel. even the emergency lighting went off in the corridors and staircases so it was quite dangerous getting downstairs with no lights, people were using their phone torches to walk down. The staff were lovely and kept apologising, but at the end of the day there were no basic facilities in the room. We left at 11:30 and the electric still wasn’t on. It really spoilt our stay not being able to have a shower or toilet facilities.For something as serious as this, you would expect some sort of compensation but none was offered.

The rooms and the part of the hotel we were in were very dated. It felt like we were in a 70s business conference building rather than the beautiful hotel you see at the entrance and lobby. While the room/bed was comfortable enough, there were a lot of parts that hadn't seen a duster in a while. The room was very hot and noisy, being over an external aircon unit probably didn't help. Location was good, a 10-15min walk into the centre.

This is such a friendly hotel, the staff are warm and genuine. It was such a pleasure to stay there. The facilities are good, air conditioning would be nice in the bedrooms, but that's not essential. The evening food offering isn't great as the only choice past 5pm is the restaurant or room service. The evening restaurant menu is over priced and lacks variety, sadly. It would be good if the bar meals could be until 7pm because unless you want to go to your room you need to go out to eat. There were a lot of pizza deliveries which is a shame. Oh, and a dog only area in the lounge would be good, sitting next to someone's smelly dog is not nice.

Super stay at this wonderful hotel..immaculate room with everything you need..Very polite staff who go the extra mile.

Very nice hotel - great location for central Harrogate. Amenities very good but our room was very warm and we needed the fan provided to be constantly running. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Check in was good - nice touch would have been to have offered a free upgrade OR reduced rate upgrade. Had this been offered then I might have been more open to have taken breakfast or evening meal. Great location and parking convenient. The room while clean was dated and lacking extras. I had to go down to reception to request a pen. Saying that staff were great generally - Fabio was brill and a guy who was working first thing in the morning.

Nice hotel with beautiful garden and breakfast area. The staff are amazing but not very cheerful. Especially at breakfast and check in.

Friendly staff, lovely spacious room

Booked for a 2 night stay to be told that I have to pay £15per night for an extra bed. Which I had no choice but to pay. On liaising with Expedia who are unhelpful as I would have expected a refund of my £30 contacted the hotel who said that i had requested it when the had called me! This is an outright lie as I have never received a call from them. Integrity is everything, as such I will never book here again or use this service.

Birthday trip

I had a lovely large and comfortable room. Beautiful dining room and a nice breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend and stay there again.

The restaurant serves an excellent dinner.

The hotel was very appealing on arrival, parking was very good and reasonable, staff on arrival was excellent Declan was very approachable, friendly and accomodating.we throughly enjoyed our stay, breakfast was very nice and lots of choice. We would definately book again to stay.

the building is beautiful but the rooms were very dated and in need of upgrading they were clean but fixings need replacing especially the bathrooms.

We chose the Hotel due to the close location of an event we were attending. Expensive for one night and to had to pay parking and breakfast on top. For the amount we paid i would have expected to be able to order a poached egg at breakfast. It was your standard help yourself buffet. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Room was classic looking, clean and had a double shower. Bed was a little hard but I slept well, helped by the blackout curtains. No pool, no mini fridge. No plug sockets by bed.

Very last minute, Staff couldn’t be more helpful, definitely coming back next year!
