Lovely one night stay. Friendly staff, clean room and good breakfast.

The Hotel staff were very friendly on arrival, Danny made us very welcome. The room was clean, very cosy and well equipped. We enjoyed our continental breakfast with lots of choice. We also booked a meal at the Basca Indian restaurant next door on recommendation and the food was delicious! The hotel is situated right in the middle of Colchester so the shops were in easy walking distance, as was the castle and art galleries. We really enjoyed our short stay and will be back for another visit in the future!

Quirky little hotel. My room was a little run down and ideally would have done well to have a desk to work at. Staff were decent but the room Brian restaurant was quality. Really good. Brekkie was continental and that was spot on also.

The room has an old radiator that has been broken for months. The staff mentioned that the owner is usually available to fix it during weekdays, which means that this has been an ongoing problem that he refuses to pay to fix properly. He was not available that weekend and we were left with a shoddy portable radiator.

Informative check in. Cosy well laid out bedroom with a good shower. Clean, warm and comfortable.

I was very well looked after on a one night stay. The bed was comfortable, the staff were very kind and I enjoyed a delicious indian meal in their restaurant.

It was a lovely place to stay very quiet but there was a small problem couple above us was a bit noisy,also you could hear when they using the shower and flushing the toilet apart from that we had a good 2 day stay

This is our second stay at this charming little hotel. Just love it, not the least the humerous host!

The staff were very helpful. The location was perfect. The room by the courtyard garden was quite cold for a stay in January, the bed had a thin fleece blanket over the duvet, but could do with something thicker for January. Breakfast had a brilliant selection, and the staff were very attentive.

This property is exactly in the name--boutique. It is quaint and quiet. Great location to walk to nice restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly.

Clean, comfortable and friendly

Only offered Continental breakfast when pictures on website showed a cooked one, I thought would be available. But was a phenomenal set up anyway with loads of choice. Room was clean, excellent shower facilities & great nights sleep. Room a little small so crowded & difficulty setting up my Laptop easily for working.

Good for walking into town centre. Within a good area for evening dining too - highly recommend Middletons. Car park secure but if you've got a wide car you might have trouble getting through the gateway. Afternoon tea is excellent and continental breakfast is very well stocked.

Liked it so much coming back on Wednesday.
