Had a great stay near to everything and for the money excellent value , nice views overlooking the bay , staff was friendly and helpful. So all in all excellent value from my stay in the bay hotel

Hotel is very run down and tired. In need of a huge refurb! Hot water took approx 5-10 mins to come through and the water pressure in the shower was very nearly non existent! We did try and talk to the hotel but was informed the maintenance man wasn’t back in until the day we left. Check in is 4pm and not 3pm as stated. The chap on reception informed us when we tried to check in, he wasn’t very helpful at all! Said it changed a while ago but it’s not been updated. Their communication is rubbish! Sat speaking to an elderly lady who had travelled for hours and with check in now later, she was asked to wait. She asked then if she could have a cup of tea and she was greeted with ‘the bar is closed, sorry’. Carpets are tread bare in quite a few places and heavily stained in areas too! Breakfast was ok, but not great with replenishing items once gone, so try not to be late down. Overall, my advice would be to avoid if possible. There are much nicer places to stay.

L'intero stabile sarebbe da demolire. L'accesso avviene tramite una scala ripida e causa problemi per l'accesso. Per raggiungere la mia camera è stato necessario salire rampe ripidissime di scale. La camera con moquette aveva una puzza decisamente disgustosa. La pulizia dell'hotel è scarsissima. Alla colazione era presente un numero spropositato di ospiti, tutti in coda per servirsi al buffet che era sprovvisto di toast, bevande, croissant e tutti pazientemente ad aspettare i poveri camerieri che non facevano a tempo a rifornire il buffet stesso. I tavoli posizionati vicinissimi rendevano difficile l'andare a sedersi. La pulizia vergognosa, moquette all'ingresso ed al ristorante con macchie la cui origine erameglio non immaginarla (liquidi organici). Terminata la presenza di un paio di signorine gentili alla reception, il presidio era assicurato da due uomini sporchi, uno brusco nel dare le informazioni, l'altro senza denti che si faceva fatica a capire. Very poor

I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was in poor condition and did not meet my expectations. The carpet near the entrance was old and worn, while the toilet and shower were in an unacceptable state. The entrance door to the room was extremely old and appeared to be in need of replacement. Overall, the room was poorly maintained, and the quality of the accommodation did not justify the standard that was advertised. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements

The only thing wrong is that the hotel needs upgrading, there were stains on the carpet in reception, as well as in the bar area, in some of the rooms as well. if you are an older guest or have mobility problems the room that we were in, had a bath, with a shower over but I could not access, no room to sit on the toilet as the basin was too close to the toilet and had a nasty crack in it. No lift to access our room, just a staircase which I have a job to use as I have severe arthritis. My fault I should of asked about disabled facilities.

Room was disgusting especially the curtains. They did change them, but I don't think they tried too hard to clean room. It still felt like there was sand in the carpet. The bed was really comfortable though and breakfast was lovely. They did change the fan when it broke. Most of the staff were pleasant enough. One hotel I will not be going back to.

Mold on the ceiling, broken tv, curtain falling off rail, stains everywhere. To quote the manager, “You booked a room not a picture”. The room they gave us was certainly not in any pictures they advertised, it was absolutely decrepit.

The property's location was highly advantageous, offering convenient pedestrian access to beachside dining establishments and cultural institutions. However, the building itself is quite aged, and the elevator functionality was inconsistent. Furthermore, the breakfast offerings were rather unremarkable, with limited choices available.

Could do with a deep clean and some updating. Very basic but fine as a place to just get your head down

The hotel is very run down. The carpets are in terrible condition and looks like someone has died on them! The whole hotel needs a major renovation. Location is best thing about it - right next to the beach and train station.

It's shocking that they are able to charge so much for such poorly maintained rooms and hotel. Our room didn't look at all what was depicted on the Hotels.com page. The front desk carpet has a huge stain (old one, not new!) giving a terrible first impression of the lack of care. The wallpaper up the staircase was very old and tired-looking. There was just a dribble of hot water in the bathroom sink and the shower pressure was very feeble. Not to be re-booked!

Average but could be lovely with the view

The stay at this hotel was disappointing from start to finish. The state of the building is terrible; the carpets are filthy and the decor has evidently been neglected for decades. Paint is peeling off the walls and plaster is cracked everywhere. The same was true of the rooms. While my stay was during an admittedly hot spell, the temperature in the room was quite unbearable. There was a fan provided, which was so old and loud that it could not be used during the night, making the room even hotter. The WiFi connection did not work for most of the stay. I did not eat in the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. As I checked in, two families were in the process of leaving, as they had decided, having seen their rooms, that they could not stay. I only stayed as I was unable to find somewhere else nearby with availability. The staff were kind, understanding and as helpful as they were able to be, given the situation in which they were required to work. I am sorry to have to give a hotel such a poor review, and have never done so before. However, I cannot recall ever having stayed somewhere quite as bad as this. It should not be permitted to receive guests until it has been closed for a complete overhaul.

specular view! the hotel is underrated

I have had the misfortune of staying in many hotels, but this easily takes the title of the absolute worst. The only reason this place isn't getting zero stars is the location, but even that comes with a massive "buyer beware" warning. The Mobility Nightmare: While the hotel is close to the beach, "close" means navigating a relentless series of steep stairs. This theme continues inside; there are stairs to get everywhere. This building is a complete no-go if you have any mobility issues or heavy luggage. It is the furthest thing from "user-friendly" I’ve ever seen. Filth and Decay The word "dated" is too kind. it’s gross and falling apart. The carpets are covered in mystery stains and are literally fraying at the seams. In our room, bits of the wall were actually crumbling off. The bathroom was a joke: the toilet roll holder fell off the wall the moment it was touched, and the shower was a pathetic trickle that barely qualified as running water. The Breakfast Fiasco Don't bother waking up for the food. Despite breakfast supposedly serving until 9:30 AM, we arrived just before 9:00 AM to find absolutely nothing left. No replenishment, no effort, just empty trays. Service While the reception staff were admittedly nice, the rest of the team clearly didn't want to be there and were far from welcoming. Verdict: Save your money. The sea view isn't worth the filth, the broken fixtures, and the exhaustion of navigating a hotel that is essentially an obstacle course. Disgusting!

First impressions were quite good. Helpful receptionist. Although we did notice a fairly grubby carpet in the reception area. And then upon walking to our room noticed the light coloured carpet throughout was grubby and stained with spillage here and there. Our room was somewhat disappointing Although did have a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was smelly with the suite chipped in various places and the power cable to the towel rail was crudely drilled through the wall to the adjacent hallway. There was a live singer directly below us which kept us awake until quite late. Sorry but we will not be returning to this establishment. Requires vastly modernising.

Bra läge med fantastisk utsikt, smutsiga mattor i allmänna utrymmen, men bra på rummen. Läget superbt nära stationen men man fick bära väskor upp för branta trappor. Frukost bra. Personalen såg uttråkade ut och inte motiverade att ge bra service.

This hotel is in a great location, but is really run down. The carpets are all stained, stairwell musty smelling, and the elevator only serves part of the hotel. The free parking is nice (when available) but be prepared to haul your bags up and down the street and stairs. Breakfast was good, but not available until 8am.

Bedding very clean bathroom and white towels also clean. Toiletries pathetic! View from the bedroom window superb! Uninterrupted view of the beach and sea. The bedroom carpet was reasonably clean but ceiling and wall paint peeling. Windows old and filthy and not able to be opened given a fan that was useless!
