Lovely room, very clean, feels like a high quality hotel-type room. Friendly folks who are very accommodating. I really enjoyed being right next to durbar square. Only possible downside is there were dog sounds at night, but that’s something I’ve experienced whenever I stay in the city in Nepal - I think you’d have to go very rural if you wanted to avoid the dog sounds. Better to get used to them! Overall lovely place, how lucky I would be to have the chance to return 🙂

I have stayed at Mountain Guest House several times now and am happy to have a great and reliable option for when I return to Bhaktapur. The location makes it very easy to see the sights yet is located on a more quiet street. Extra pleasure comes from the proximity to a small temple allowing you to hear the bell rung as locals pass by and a neighbor playing beautiful soft music from her instrument in the window during the day. The beds are comfortable and warm and a lovely breakfast is provided (also English-printed newspaper to read while you eat). All this combined with the friendly owner and staff make this hotel feel like a home away from home in the gorgeous city of Bhaktapur.
