Lovely friendly staff, clean hotel and rooms. If had a negative, would prefer not to sit outside on picnic benches as not accessible for all people

Clean, friendly and a great location

Because of the heatwave we had to have our window open a couple of inches and the noise from the bars outside made it difficult to get to sleep, the noise stopped around 3am

Hotel is clean and breakfast was good

Great location with free parking,.only negatives we're a poor restaurant and a great deal of noise outside the hotel well into the early hours

Not sure if it’s just me but there were no curtains just vertical blinds over single glazing which didn’t shut out light plus there was a green light above the door which reflected onto the mirror opposite. I struggle to sleep if the room isn’t dark. Staff were pleasant and helpful, parking good food was excellent. If I returned I would request a different room.

The bath and shower needs a slip proof mat as they are so slippery. There are a lot of elderly residents and they could easily slip. Also usb power sockets would be very useful we all have phones and laptops that need changing

Hotel was absolutely fine except, make sure you have a room over looking the sea, we had a room overlooking the town and the noise from the pubs shouting and the music untill around 3.30 am. Really bad

Family room was clean and spacious, Very hot day two fans in room excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb. Car park spacious. Have stayed here on several occasions and would again. On a hole I cannot fault the Royal Hotel.

The royal hotel is a very nice hotel the room we stayed in was nice but was very hot could do with air conditioning could not fault the staff they were very kind and helpful could not do enough to make our stay better the breakfast was nice but only thing that was disappointing was the quality of sausages they wasn’t very nice other than them it was a nice breakfast Overall had a great stay hotel lovely staff excellent

Unfortunately this hotel is in need of refurbishing and modernisation. Our room the curtains were dusty and coming off the curtain track so didn’t pull properly, letting in light from signage until 2am. No plug sockets beside the bed. Furniture dated Bath old and very chipped, We had dinner in the restaurant which was nice, the waitress was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok This hotel has an amazing position and if modernised would be an asset to the owners and the area,

Excellent location,very clean,comfortable beds and pillows,friendly staff.Would definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely stay and the staff were very helpful as when we got there we weren't sure about the carpark but reception explained how it worked. What i did like was we were asked if we wanted housekeeping as we were only there for two days we didn't see the point so we said no. The hotel for us was in a perfect position with lovely sea views and the promenade a minute away. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel. Arrived early. We were pleased the room was ready for us. The Staff were very welcoming, friendly, helpful, we had a lovely breakfast every morning we booked Sunday lunch which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and courteous. A very pleasant stay throughout

Staff were very efficient and friendly. I have disability, someone had parked across the space outside and I let reception know. The disabled spaces need repainting as they are very worn. Bar staff very good, we didn't use restaurant. Lovely bathroom. Bed comfortable. Wardrobe doors creaked very badly, maybe some WD40 on the hinges would help! Good view. Lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay and will be returning.Very happy with our short break here at the Royal.

Room 302 no hot water at all on our 2 night stay and the shower didn’t work. Reported it to staff and wasn’t even offered another room. Was told they didn’t have maintenance people on a weekend but they would try and sort it. After a day out when we got back to the hotel the reception staff member said it was sorted, it wasn’t. It was scolding hot initially which burnt me and then back to stone cold, clearly a faulty shower. Very poor

Love tbe Royal! Its a very traditional hotel. Beautiful staircase . Rooms were very clean. Couldnt see the TV, it was too small, but didnt affect us. Comfortable bed and lovely, bright airy rooms. Nice bathroom with shower. Its close to the shopping arcade and close to the pubs. The sea front is 2 minutes away. Weatherspoons is 2 minutes away too. Parking is free, so thats a plus.We have stayed twice before and we will be definately be back.

Run on a skeleton staff. Not clean pillows were sweat stained marks on wall and toilet, mould in the bathroom Rude bar staff with overpriced drinks Breakfast wasnt good and sausages tasted of Final straw was told had to pay for car park after 11.30 am I thought we were treating ourselves, should have gone to the Premier inn for half the price
