Great accomodatiion! We had a one night stop arriving late at Luton airport. Staff very friendly even at late hours, bar open 😉

Overall an okay stay, our room had a funny smell when we first went in, however we kept being disturbed by door banging in the corridors most of the night as they didn’t have soft closing door hinges on them and the rooms aren’t very sound proof, also not much choice food wise on the menu for anyone who is a fussy eater so had to walk out to find somewhere to eat, also found the hotel quite dark when you walk into reception and not overly appealing, in comparison to other hotels.

Good location for me and garden bar area was great, food OK but building tired

We booked a bed & breakfast stay. The room was pleasant and clean. Staff were largely absent and we were unable to gain any assistance from Reception in the morning in regard to the very poor breakfast situation. We waited for a table only to told to ‘find a space’ - every table was littered with the previous occupants finished breakfasts. There was no bread, no pastries, no milk, no cutlery and no service or assistance. We left to find a cafe around the corner for our breakfast after a rushed conversation about the possibility of a refund with ‘Sana’. It was by her account her 2nd day on the job and seemed entirely unsupported or assisted by any management whatsoever. It was very poor and we will be following up directly with the hotel for a refund - though based on our experience of reception I doubt we will receive a response!

We have just spent 3 night at the Old Palace Lodge, Dunstable, after booking through your site. We have been disappointed from start to finish. The property were not very helpful in resolving our issues. Day one, mixer on bath/shower did not work. So we had the bath filling up as we tried to shower. It couldn’t be regulated properly because the mixer did not work and it was dangerous. Scalding hot water or freezing cold. Service in the restaurant was appalling. Only 1 member of staff on duty. Orders wrong, delays in topping items up. A jug of hot water for tea that ran out every 5 minutes. The service for the next two mornings was worse (if that was at all possible). Ordered food at 9am and got it at 9.50am. It was a very expensive stay and to be honest. It wasn’t worth it.

Very professional staff, helpful, and eager to help. The place was on a main road but I couldn't hear any traffic noise. The rooms where clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden area. Only drawback was no air con in the rooms but we did have a fan which was adequate. I would recommend thos place to needing to stay in or around this area. If I need to be in the area again I would definitely use this hotel again. Thank you for the great time.

all adequate but not a four star property in my opinion, needs upgrading. extensive use of very low wattage l.e.d lighting makes for a very gloomy interior and safety concerns near stairs and differing floor levels.very expensive for what it is.

Friendly and helpful reception. Clean room cosy bar with good service Car park a bit tight not helped by the careless tossers who park across 2 bays. Not the hotel fault. Convenient location. Good value.

Booked room (twin) not ready on arrival (35 minutes after check in open. Was told could be 30-45 mins which was not acceptable. Asked if any room type was ready and was offered a double. This room (303) was terrible. There was no where to sit apart from bed. Room temp was around 40c even with windows open. No fan in room and only a single towel. Bath taps only ran shower with no way to use bath and wooden surround was split, damp and breaking up. When reported to Reception was offered no alternative or potential fix (no additional towels as other guests were also complaining same). I asked for a fan and a chair but was advised some rooms do not have additional seating. On return at 8:30pm a fan had been put in room but made no difference to temp. There was no way you could sleep in that room at that temperature so made the decision to vacate room and return home. At Reception was offered nothing apart from sorry you need to leave. Absolutely shocking service during the 5 hours of which I spent 50 mins in room. This hotel should be closed down or requires significant infrastructure changes to make rooms inhabitable.

Four-star it is not. Have stayed here many times before but won't be staying here again uless there is a dramatic improvement. Would have hoped, having re-opened after a long closure to paying guests, that basic decor would have been refreshed and standards maintained. Instead, tired decor, worn carpets, a musty smell in corridors, and an expectation of DIY - rooms not cleaned unless requested, no hotel information in room, no water or even glasses in room... Biggest downside is the outsourced catering. Restaurant used to be good - no longer. Breakfast barely adequate and simple bacon roll took 25 mins to arrive (4 people in there so not exactly rushed off their feet). Meal previous evening was edible at best. Pity really - used to be a good hotel. Very disappointing.

Hotel was a bit tired. Food quite nice. Biggest frustration was no glasses or water provided in bedrooms, air conditioning unit making constant noise even turned off, and uncomfortable mattress.

We upgraded to the deluxe room with breakfast, which was also good for about £100. Nice garden for a drink.

The rooms were mostly clean, but the facilities were dated and a little rundown and not well maintained. For instance peeling paint around the side of the bath tub, weird stains on the radiator, dust on the top of the wardrobe. However, the communal areas of the hotel are very well maintained and look beautiful including the outside area. There’s no adjustable heat/aircon, had to request a fan due to the unbearable heat. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. I did not stay for breakfast, but it was reasonably priced and had a good selection. And having a 24hr bar is an inspired choice. It’s a mixed bag of a review, if you are just looking for a place to rest your head then you’ll be fine here, if you’re looking for luxury or a little escape, this may not be the one.

The hotel is a bit old and in need of refurbishment. With that said clean and in a good location.

Nice place cozy atmosphere, nice rooms and friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
