We had a wonderful experience here, the staff, the food and the hotel were all wonderful. Would love to come back one day.

紅葉が綺麗でした お風呂最高です

Friendly staff and their attention to details. Never refuse a request. The mixed milky onsen was really extraordinary and a very unique experience. The ladies were given a wrap around and nothing can be seen with the milky onsen. Very discreet , indeed!

混浴でしたが湯浴み着が有りますので大丈夫でした。 ずーっとつかっている事が出来大満足です。内風呂のぬるい炭酸泉も良いと思います。

お酒を手に入れるの困難

周辺の道が険しく、不安な中到着。宿の外観の古さに又不安になりましたが、それも風情かと。客室と食事処は新しくて安心しました。 温泉は秘境感ある雰囲気ですが、大露天風呂に行くのに女性だけ内風呂から一度服を着て移動が必要なのが面倒かなと思いました。 その他、所々に女将さんの手作り品などに心遣いがみえましたが、どなたが女将なのか最後まで分かりませんでした笑。 食事処の新人スタッフさんの感じが良かったです。末永く頑張って欲しいと思いました。

ぬる湯がめちゃくちゃ良かった ただここまで温度が低いと好き嫌いは分かれそう。

泡の湯さんには、約20年前から幾度かお世話になっております。いつも萌黄でしたが、今回、初めて翠で予約できて非常に楽しみにしていました。 お湯の泉質など温泉はいつものことながら大満足でした。また、部屋は非常に清掃が行き届いており大変満足できました。 しかし、夕食も朝食も量が多く、あまり、山の幸という感じがせず、街中の居酒屋と変わらない感じで少し残念な気がしました。加えて、朝食はバタバタ感の中での食事となり、もう少し落ち着いて食事をとりたいなと感じました。 特別な日に宿泊しているお宿なので、少々気になったことを記しておきます。

Simplement magique et totalement dépaysant

We are the repeaters. This the rare co-ed onsen which allows you to go in with your friends and family. The onsen was filled with milky warm water so that you can stay in long hours and enjoy other people's company. Very relaxing environment surrounded by mountains. The food was omakase and very good. We enjoyed all of the local cuisine items with great beer and sake.

料理は非常に良かったが、館内施設の老朽化が目立った

Happy we tried the ryokan, definitely an experience to do in Japan. The property is pretty dated, and the staff watches your every movement which feels weird. But glad we did it. I think it was overpriced for the age of the facility.

大露天風呂の湯温が低い事は知っていましたが、流石にもう少しあったかくして欲しい

野天風呂は写真の通りとてもよかったです。ぬるいという口コミもあり、確かにその通りですが、だからこそ長く湯に浸かることが出来ます。また、よく探せば暖かいお湯が出ている処もあります。夕食で提供された岩魚の塩焼きはとても美味しく、東京の星付きレストランでも同じものを出すのは困難でしょう。此処にしかない贅沢が確かにありました。

Awanoyu is among one of those onsen ryokans we love the traditional ambience. Its open air spa is exceptional in the natural serenade!!

本当に良い温泉でした。混浴も付けるものがあったので気にすることなく安心して温泉を楽しめました。温泉に入りながら星空が見えてすごくステキな時間を過ごせました。また行きたいです。

由入住一刻已經超貼心，行李箱會清潔😩先送到房，安排在房間坐下飲茶再慢慢講解酒店，男女混浴溫泉很特別很大，女仕會有特別安排不用擔心走光，食物有水準很好吃，員工很貼心又細心，住宿經驗超好，遇上紅葉季節非常美麗

We came here because it was the only outdoor onsen we could find that had mixed gender bathing. I had the impression that it was "towel-optional" for ladies, but another female (Japanese) guest rushed over to me when I entered the bath with just a modesty towel and ushered me back to the changing room to get a proper wrap around towel. Then when I came out with it, she pointed out that it had snaps along the top to make sure the towels wouldn't reveal anything, and actually snapped my snaps herself. She was kind and motherly about it - not rude or aggressive. Still, people thinking this is towel optional should be aware of this expectation. I was not aware that there is an annex where couples can enjoy the time together. They had convenient parking and helped us with our bags. Little to no English spoken. The stay was a gift for my husband who had never been to Japan and loves seeking out wild hotsprings in the US. So, the room and the kaiseki did not disappoint. The bathing while beautiful was a little akward. And we would have preferred to have our meal in the company of others, especially since we had no idea about what we were eating. I don't think it's so difficult these days to run a menu through a translator program and print it. So, I'm glad we experienced it. It was far and above the most expensive place we stayed in Japan. For any further visits, I think we'll look for a place outdoor private baths.
