Second visit staying here , perfect location 10 min walk from train station lovely staff , fab breakfast will definitely stay again next year when visiting family .

We had a brilliant stay here. We stayed in Fishergate which we found really comfortable and clean. Our room was serviced during breakfast every day. Breakfast was huge and there were lots of choices including a full English and smoked salmon and eggs. Breakfast is 9-10am every day which suites us well. Even when the hotel was busy, our room was nice and quiet. We asked for a breakfast in our room/to go on our check out day because we left early and we had a beautiful breakfast delivered to our room the night before. The staff could not have been more helpful and they seemed genuinely eager to please. The hotel is ideally situated for the city centre with lots of takeaways and nice pubs and restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again. It was good value as well.

Room very spacious and spotless. Plenty of tea bags/coffee etc in room. Free car parking Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu amazing and delicious. I had poached eggs with salmon on a toasted muffin. Central for visiting York. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully stay again

We spent one night at The Exhibition Hotel as a family. Quirky, friendly and welcoming staff. The only down side is the paper thin walls. That wouldn't stop us returning. Great location and lovely breakfast.

Nice friendly welcome from the gentleman working the bar on arrival Thursday 23rd October around 2pm, booked in and explained about breakfast, evening meals, on-site parking and what was happening at the pub over coming days. Shown to our room which was nice and bright, very clean and comfortable. The building dates from the 1700s so expect uneven floors and squeaky floor boards and lots of character in a nice way and things that catch your eye. Beautifully dressed for Halloween. The breakfast menu is well presented with a very good choice of items from cereal and juice to full English breakfast with toast and the smaller portions if you are still full from the generous portions of the evening meal menu, all cooked to order, fresh and hot, unless you have a salad which are fresh and normally cold. Kitchen staff are happy to change items around. Extensive range of drinks available at the bar including cask ales, lagers, keg beers, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. All the staff we spoke with were happy to help in any way, cheerful and friendly and all had a minute or two to chat and advise on what to see next. Located right near the city walls and only about 10 minutes walk from the cathedral this place is a little gem. Lovely historic building with lovely warm friendly people.

We've been staying here for 24 years Amazing welcome always from Rose, Shuni,Danny and staff. The rooms are beautiful, spotless and comfortable. It's a lovely cosy pub too with a fantastic beer garden. All the benefit of staying at a pub without any noise, whatsoever, in any of the rooms...we've stayed in them all over the years! Minutes from the city centre, free parking and the best breakfast in York!

A lovely small hotel. Minutes to walk to the entrance to the city wall and York Minster. Staff were very helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It's close to the York Minster and easily accessible from the train station. The breakfast was fantastic with many choices, but it started late start from 9am. The hotel is above the Exhibition Bar with a nice atmosphere. You can go down for a drink at night. The only reason for 4 stars is that the bed is too soft, as I felt it would collapse while sitting on it.

Great place to stay In York when travelling with a car. Great parking and the staff are wonderful. Beautifully located close to old town and within easy walking distance to all amenities. Definitely recommend

We very much enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel, which boasts clean and comfortable rooms and a convenient carpark for guests in a popular area of York. The staff were friendly and hospitable and accommodating in all measures. The breakfast menu was surprisingly broad and the food delicious. We spent a pleasant few hours sipping good ales and tasty cold spritzers in their extensive beer garden listening to talented local musicians at their excellent open mic.

Comfortable rooms above historic pub very close to everything in the York downtown. Great breakfast (with lots of good choices) & large nicely landscaped beer garden connected to the pub.

Meraviglioso pub in centro a York, a due passi dalla stazione dei treni (10 minuti a piedi!) staff veramente gentilissimo e disponibile, ci hanno tenuto i bagagli in attesa del check in e anche all’uscita. Camere pulite e dotate di ogni comfort. Se tornerò a York lo risceglierò (ha anche un garden esterno e il parcheggio!

Perfect location

Parking was free, but spaces are extremely small and difficult to park. Only on electrical outlet available in the entire room. Restaurant was not open on the night we stayed
