Wasnt super ideal for 1 bathroom / shower for 10 rooms. Overall good stay though espicially considering the options you have in this area of iceland

Das Zimmer waren sehr modern ausgestattet mit bequemen Betten und tollem Bad, allerdings fehlte ein Schrank oder anderer Stauraum. Die Gemeinschaftsküche war gut ausgestattet, der Raum allerdings etwas lieblos gestaltet und mit Gerümpel (alte Matratzen, Bauholz, etc.)

Um lugar calmo, com um clima gostoso e energia boa! Uma cozinha comunitária que tinha tudo que precisávamos, banheiro cheiroso e limpo e o quarto impecável!

The Farmhouse Lodge is actually a few separate buildings. We stayed in Guesthouse Room #5 with our own private bathroom, which was huge. There are no staff members on the property so we followed a series of signs to go to the building where the keys were kept for “check-in.” An email in advance with instructions and what to expect would have been helpful. Our room was plenty big with a little seating area but there was an odd clicking noise from one corner over the bed and what looked like mold on the ceiling. There was no landline in the room so when we had a problem with the toilet, it took us a few minutes to get in touch with someone who could take care of it. They were very responsive and while we went to dinner in town, they fixed it. There wasn’t a refrigerator in our room but it was cold enough that night to keep our Black Crust Pizza leftovers in the car. It looked like there was a common area for breakfast but we decided to go straight to the black sand beaches and lighthouse and had brunch at Faxi Bakery.

This is a great little place to stay and not have to travel to see the northern lights. I stayed in one of the bungalows (the called it the chicken houses). Stay was comfortable, it is a small space so a bit crowded and the ceilings were short and sloped in so it made taking a shower a little challenging but still doable. The only turnoff for me was the sink was leaking from the drain pipe as well as one of the water lines going into the sink and the staff's response was to bring me towels. Luckily it wasn't a bad leak but you can tell the place suffers from bad plumbing issues with lots of water damage along the floor boards.

Nice and clean. Room is well cared for. Instructions on taking out room trash at checkout are unclear, and we couldn’t find a dumpster to dispose of trash. Otherwise great experience.

The lodge is in a great dark area for viewing the Northern Lights. Great place to stay. Very quiet. I highly recommend saying that this lodge.

AVOID IN WINTER if you want to use the facilities such as kitchen etc. The kitchen is in a separate building from the rooms which was not made clear when booking. It is a huge kitchen but only two tiny heaters worked so it was baltic. Meant we had to go out for tea which we weren’t planning on doing so messed up ours plans. Nice room tho

Chambre bien entretenu et salle de bain aussi. J’avais la chambre 9 du guesthouse au sous-sol avec une belle vue vers le sud.
