Very welcoming staff. Wonderful spacious room. There was a welcome gift for the dog and also fudge and a coffee machine for the adults! The breakfast was fantastic with a good choice. The restaurant was excellent and service and food very good. Excellent facilities and us and our dog were made to feel very welcome

Booked on a whim as we were in the area, the hotels surprised with its beautiful location and grounds, lovely public rooms, and friendly staff. Dinner very nice and we will return with our dogs next time. Some deferred maintenance is obvious on the exterior.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace looking over the gardens and countryside, and relaxing in the elegant and comfortable lounge. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, great views and well equipped, and nicely laid out. Good food too. A great place to stay in Dartmoor.

Wonderful place to stay. Well looked after.

Clean room. Good for one night. However did not get much sleep as rooms around were walking around allot during the night. And floors creak allot. Not at all sound proof. Not worth the price if you want a good night sleep. Night manager met in morning was absolutely wonderful however check in manager was slightly rude/standoffish when I first arrived. Felt as if checking me in was an inconvenience.

Spotless room, lovely hotel and grounds, delicious food and drinks menus, beautiful surroundings and most importantly, every member of staff that we came into contact with was fabulous. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Parking was easy and room was very clean

Breakfast good choice, poached eggs overdone and staff cheerful. Paper thin walls mean you hear every small noise so not great. Lovely grounds to walk in and the nearby Rock Inn pub well worth a visit.

Lovely place to stay. Gorgeous gardens, comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Lots of choice on the menu and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic. I cannot fault anything

Fabulous place to stay with very friendly and attentive staff. Great food, beautiful location and it was a very relaxing way to spend my birthday! The hotel treated me well and housekeeping put balloons and a card with fudge in our room, and I even got a lunchtime mini dessert platter. Nice touch! Loads of parking, great shower and if you love walking it’s in an ideal location. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We had a wonderful stay at the Moorland Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone exploring Dartmoor. The accommodation and dining options were excellent. The location is very close to Hay Tor with lots of beautiful walks from the hotel.

Nice room but a bit warm. Glad to see the window opened. Clean and tidy. Food nice but expensive.

The breakfast cooked to order and perfection summed up the whole dining experience of staying at this beautiful hotel. Carly, the assistant manager with her friendly and professional manner personified everything else The only downside is our room (102) had a noisy neighbour who left their TV on all night

The Moorland Hotel is fabulous. We would definitely recommend it and when we visit the area again we will stay here without hesitation. The food was excellent and the staff were welcoming. Although we didn't take a dog we saw some in the hotel and they were well catered for with a wash station outside (for after a long walk), plenty of water bowls, treats, spare leads, harness and blankets etc. All in all, at the end of our stay we felt rested and relaxed. You can't ask for much more than that.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, room clean and grounds are beautiful. Sunny patio area for drinks or quiet spot to enjoy surroundings.

Great location. Food is very good with lots of options. Now been a few times, great for a relaxing break in the countryside.

This is a busy hotel on Sunday’s but has plenty of parking. The staff are exceptional and room 201 with a tub in the window is perfect for a romantic weekend. The hotel is a short walk from the Rock Inn and the moor. The food in the bar and main restaurant is varied and delicious with breakfast being served in the conservatory. The bus service to Widecombe in the moor is very limited and needs to be considered if you intend to visit the area. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Parking was not a problem, welcoming staff at all levels. Good bar choice and food which was great, this is our fourth stay at the Moorland and we will come again.
